I got seven nights to roll
Seven nights, I'm gonna show my face
With a different chick and in a different place
Seven nights to rock
I got seven nights to roll
Monday, at sister Suzy's ball
Wednesday, at the road house inn
Thursday, at the lion's den
Friday, at the chatter box
Saturday and Sunday, everybody rocks
Seven nights to rock
I got seven nights to roll
Seven nights, I'm gonna show my face
With a different chick and in a different place
Seven nights to rock
I got seven nights to roll
I got seven nights to rock
I got seven nights to roll
Seven nights, I'm gonna show my face
With a different chick and in a different place
Seven nights to rock
I got seven nights to roll
Monday, I'm gonna rock with Jane
Tuesday, it's gonna be Lorraine
Wednesday, I'm taking Nancy Lee
Thursday, it's Betty Lou and me
Friday, I'm gonna jive with Sue
Saturday and Sunday, any chick will do
Seven nights to rock
I got seven nights to roll
Seven nights, I'm gonna show my face
With a different chick and in a different place
Seven nights to rock
I got seven nights to roll
I got seven nights to rock
I got seven nights to roll
Seven nights, I'm gonna show my face
With a different chick and in a different place
Seven nights to rock
I got seven nights to roll
The lyrics to "Seven Nights to Rock" by Asleep at the Wheel depict a carefree and lively lifestyle where the singer has seven nights to indulge in music, dancing, and romantic encounters. The repetition of the phrase "I got seven nights to rock, I got seven nights to roll" emphasizes the exhilaration and anticipation the singer feels towards these upcoming nights.
The song describes how each night of the week is dedicated to a different venue or event, showcasing the singer's social life. Monday is at sister Suzy's ball, Tuesday at the old dance hall, Wednesday at the roadhouse inn, Thursday at the lion's den, Friday at the chatter box, and both Saturday and Sunday are filled with rambunctious rocking all around. The repetition of these specific days of the week adds a rhythmic structure to the song, further emphasizing the movement and excitement of each night.
The lyrics also highlight the singer's intention to be with a different woman each night, emphasizing the transient nature of relationships in this lifestyle. The mention of various female names, such as Jane, Lorraine, Nancy Lee, Betty Lou, and Sue, further reinforces this idea. The singer's desire for novelty and variety is clear as he proclaims "With a different chick and in a different place" throughout the song.
