Bringing forth a hardcore musical style and heavy lyrical content. From punch lines to life situations, Asylum brings a full resume of trials and tribulations that is capable inspiring a "lifetime" of music. Battling drug addictions to living on the brinks of desperation and survival. Asylum brings an inside looking out perspective which gives his music a feeling of authenticity and soul. Not only is Asylum a stand alone artist he brings with him his counterpart DJ/Producer "Sherm Larock". The duo have been collectively making music since 2002. To date they have released two full length albums on their own. "Trapped in the Globe" (2002) and "Undeniable" (2004). They have also released the mix-tape "Check the Resume". Check The Resume is a compilation showcasing some of their favorite hits from both albums, as well as collaborations with the likes of CT heavyweights Blacastan, Colombeyond, as well as Queensbridge native Blaq Poet. The purpose of the mix-tape is to familiarize and re-introduce the world to Asylum lifetime and the work he has put in over the past eight years.

Sonically the music is a reflection of their influences. From the like of Wu tang, Mobb Deep, & Gangstarr as well as the golden era of hip hop, to the more recent explosion of Indie lyricists and beat makers. Asylum and Sherm are both fans and representatives of the entire hip Hop Culture. In the tradition of many other emcee/producer duo's such as Gangstarr, the Beatnuts, EPMD, Pete Rock & CL Smooth etc... Asylum and Sherm carry the torch from that era.

Currently in production of their next release "Political Asylum". The duo continue to do what they do best. Hard beats and hard rhymes in an aggressive format. In addition to recording music Asylum brings the same energy and passion to the live show experience.

HO own data is lagged by 4 months as they report twice a year. The trend is the key metric has expanded since Dec 2020 ( key Brexit date) but fell over 2021 and has grown since, and if the govt statements are right- and no one has published the data set so far - it has doubled since 2020 using the August 2022 HO stats as the source. A standard regression analysis would show very strong Brexit correlation.

Am I correct in saying that the UK population as been growing year on year by 300,000 while asylum seekers count for around 20,000 with around 5,000 not getting asylum . I gear that there as been a select committee trying to get information about migrant routes and numbers but they are not getting Home Office cooperation ? It leaves so much to speculation if facts are not readily available .

Every person that lands gets looked after first, then you put them in a room and question them with people who speak their language, if they haven't come here through the proper channels, ie haven't applied for asylum then you put them on a plane and send them home. If they landed here with millions of pounds worth of drugs, they would be arrested.

Yes, we had the legal framework in place but when you take more than a cursory look you see that the framework didn't work. In 2004 we made 15,000 applications via the framework and how many people were actually returned? Less than 2,000.

Something doesn't stack up Tim. Twenty years ago most asylum seekers came with identity documents and had not arrived through safe countries so there were two reasons why they could be processed very quickly and admitted into this country. Today things are very different. We know that there are many that deliberately discard their identity documents before landing here and many could be Albanians.How on earth can they be processed when they have no identity and probably do not co-operate at interviews. Further, the rule is that if an asylum claimant has arrived through a safe country their claim is invalid. All these add to the backlog because we have not worked out what we can do with them. They cannot be released into the community for obvious reasons and all we can do is hold them .

Are you aware of the Dublin regime. It was the Dublin regime that allowed deportation of failed asylum seekers back to the eu county they were denied in.

The Dublin III Regulation enabled the UK to return some asylum seekers to EU Member States without considering their asylum claims. It also provided a legal route for reuniting separated asylum-seeking family members in the UK. The Regulation will no longer apply in the UK from the end of this year. Just copied that from the commons library.

once we left that, we were unable to directly return some people to Europe. as we did not do the proper paperwork, this now gets in the way of sending people back through Europe
