What I really love is that this song has traditional sounds from many countries who have trouble with hungry citizens. Like I hear sounds that remind me of Africa, the Middle East, and Brazil (among other ones) and all of them are known for having serious trouble with hunger.

I know it's pretty weird, but when I was younger I'd actually listen to tribal music instead of normal songs. It just sounded so much nicer to me. Then I found Aurora and various other types of music and sort of stopped listening to what I used to.
Now, 4 years later, she releases this song, similar to what I used to love listening to. It's so beautiful, I love it. Just all the sounds, and the melody - it's art (though all her music is :P).

I like the use of ethnic instruments in this track! I can hear something like African drums and the Chinese erhu. Also the style of singing near the end reminds me of Asian music. Aurora is so creative ❤

@pommegriy Yes, I don't mind her honesty actually, I find it quite refreshing. But I imagine it can be a lot to swallow for some people. Aurora will tell you everything about herself, even the things you don't want to hear, and I love that about her.

@pommegri You have touched on something here. There is no doubt that Aurora is a very talented and original artist and I love her music. But, hiding under all her cuteness, whimsy, and beguiling charm, I do sense an artist's ego rustling inside her. Aurora's problem is that she is to honest for her own good sometimes due to the nature of her quirky personality. Let's be honest, every artist wants to be regarded as a genius for their work, but most would refrain from admitting it for fear of being to on the nose. Not Aurora, the openness and child-like honesty that draws us all to her works both ways, for better or worse.

I think this song it's from the perspective of animals.
'I've been born for some time And I got death on my mind' can mean how people think animals have no conscience or how quick they're about to die.
'When I'm in your arms (Ah) I long for my freedom' can be a reference to how some people see animals as properties so they are not free anymore.
'In many ways, we're not the same, but in some ways, we are' we are different but we all feel.

it remembers me the history of my country, Brazil.
a guy called Vasco da Gama discovered some place in Asia that had a lot of spices and stuff. a portuguese guy had interest on this spices, but he accidentally arrived in Brazil. he and the colonizers deforested a lot of trees, killed indigenous people that refused to be catechized and put african (and indigenous) slaves to work in the sugar mills. Brazil turned into a colony, and then, a independent country. i think "Hunger" is about people that longed to have power instead of hunger.

Y'all done realise she's singing about Greed (when she says Hunger) and also when she says we never get power it shows the men incharge all want money and power but can never have it. An example is the Big Pharmaceutical companies, when she said "kill with medicine and heal with poison" and "your body is a garden, cared for or forgotten" she's saying how these companies just want money and don't really care for our health that's why we need to be careful and take care of ourselves...that's what I think :)

it's so beautiful how this song can be so singular in the meaning
cause at the same time it can talk about the problematic of the poor countries and the hunger it can show us how much we are hungry for everything in life, we are always hungry for something be it for love, for emotions in general, for the things we can do in the future, the hungry to search for something, the hungry to achieve something we wanna do, we are the hungry living creatures. but then she saids POWER that is something that not all of us have so easy to satiate that hunger, i love how deeply aurora explores the human mind like that and at the same time it can be a yelling for all of us that are slowly becoming warriors and empowering ourselves to feel empty inside, satiating that hunger wherever kind it is.
