Ayria has been intensively and successfully touring across the globe over the past 3 years gaining a very solid reputation for putting on energetic live performances. Ayria toured the U.S.A as the chosen supporting act for legendary electronic-goth band The Crüxshadows (over 80 shows) and supported Combichrist. Ayria has also toured U.K., Europe, Russia, Mexico and Japan. Not fitting into any one musical category has allowed Ayria to gain a very broad fan base of underground goth, various underground club scenes as well as more mainstream audiences who are all addicted to Ayria’s infectious hooks.
Ayria has released three full length albums on the Belgian label [labelAlfa Matrix, including the highly acclaimed Hearts For Bullets released in September 2008. This release brings 12 hard hitting, tightly written and produced tracks each track uniquely evolving the Ayria sound. Hearts For Bullets was produced in Canada by none other than Sebastian R. Komor. Ayria hits straight and hard with Jennifer’s in-your-face sonic approach hanging between minimal electro, gritty bass synth lines and forceful stomping beats while never straying from the extremely feminine side of the project. Extravagant, provocative, bitchy and edgy yet all gut wrenchingly emotional and lyrically insightful; she hits a target somewhere between influences of Nitzer Ebb, M.I.A., Miss Kittin and Ladytron.
Before Ayria:

Jennifer was also featured as a guest vocalist on many other projects, including Implant, Glis, Parallel Project, Aiboforcen and the Mexican project Isis Signum. Ayria has completed remixes and added vocals for bands such as Angelspit and Celldweller.

Had Something
Ayria Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
I need some more time
To take it all in
And start it again
Because all that you are
It isn't for me
It's breaking apart
It wasn't to be
Won't you understand
The reasons we couldn't do this?
They're standing in my way
With all the power trip's obliviousness
How am I deserving?
Taking almost everything I had
Used me up for everything I am
I thought you would give that much more to me
I thought we had something
Everything you are is not for me
Let it break apart
Not meant to be
I think I want some more time
I need some more time
To take it all in
And start it again
Because all that you are
It isn't for me
It's breaking apart
It wasn't to be
Looking back now
You have proven that nothing lasts forever
But a tiny moment
And time has moved us to separate dimensions
Taking almost everything I had
Used me up for everything I am
I thought you would give that much more to me
I thought we had something
Thought I knew something
But now it's nothing
Everything you are is not for me
I thought we had something
I think I want some more time
I need some more time
To take it all in
And start it again
Because all that you are
It isn't for me
It's breaking apart
It wasn't to be
Everything you said is coming true
Everything that I disliked about you
The lyrics to Ayria's "Had Something" convey a sense of regret and disappointment towards a relationship that turned out to be different from what the singer had hoped for. The repetition of "I think I want some more time" and "I need some more time" suggests a desire to pause and reflect on what has happened, and perhaps even to start over with a fresh perspective. The line "all that you are, it isn't for me" acknowledges that the two people involved are not compatible, and that their differences have ultimately caused the relationship to break apart. The second verse highlights the singer's sense of being taken advantage of, as if the other person has "used me up for everything I am" without reciprocating the same level of commitment or investment.
The chorus ("everything you are is not for me") exemplifies the realization that sometimes, despite our best hopes and intentions, people and relationships simply don't work out. The final lines of the song ("everything you said is coming true, everything that I disliked about you") suggest that the singer's initial apprehensions or doubts about the relationship have been proven correct, and that they are now coming to terms with this reality.
Overall, "Had Something" portrays a bittersweet and introspective view of relationships that don't work out, and the emotional turmoil that comes with accepting the end of something that once held promise and hope.
