One Day
B.I.G. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I know how it feel to wake up fucked up
Pockets broke as hell, another rock to sell
People look at you like you's the user
Sellin' drugs to all the losers
Mad buddha abuser but they don't know about
Your stress-filled day
Baby on the way, mad bills to pay
That's why you drink Tanqueray
So you can reminisce
And wish you wasn't livin' so devilish, shit
I remember I was just like you
Smokin' blunts with my crew
Flippin' over 62's 'Cause G-E-D wasn't B-IG
I got P-A-ID, that's why my moms hate me
She was forced to kick me out, no doubt
Then I figured out nicks went
For 20s down South
Packed up my tools for my raw power move
Glock 19 for casket and flower moves
For chumps tryin' to stop my flow
And what they don't know will
Show on the autopsy
Went to see Papi to cop me a brick
Asked for some consignment
He wasn't tryin' to hear it
Smokin' mad Newports 'cause I'm due in court
For an assault that I caught in Bridgeport
New York
Catch me if you can like the Gingerbread Man
You better have your gat in hand, 'cause man

Sometimes it's hard to wake up in the morning
Mind full of demons
I don't wanna hear 'em anymore
Got me heartbroken, fine
So many babies screaming
‘Cause they seeing destruction before they
See a human being
So they start smokin' weed
We'll never get our day
Until we learn to pray
Keep our families in shape
‘Cause they all broken
Why do ghetto birds die
Before we learn to fly?
Somebody else should try
Cockin' guns, smokin'
We can all make a change so I'm told
But I haven't seen a change unfold
I'll keep hoping, please
If you prefer to breathe
Communities in need of people that will lead
Keep your eyes open, I can only say I'll try
Until the day I die, I promise to be wise
With my heart open, greed brings only misery
Away the tragedy, so I stay sucker free
Only a few chosen rise, my ghetto queens rise
Don't be afraid to try, too many of us die
For the door to open wide
My brothers speak wise
Stay focused on the prize
Though everybody dies

I had the master plan
I'm in the caravan on my way to Maryland
With my man Two TECs to
Take over this projects
They call him Two TECs, he tote two TECs
And when he start to bust, he like to ask
"Who's next?"
I got my honey on the Amtrak with the crack
In the crack of her ass
Two pounds of hash in the stash
I wait for hon to make some quick cash
I told her she could be lieutenant
Bitch got gassed
At last, I'm literally loungin', black
Sittin' back
Countin' double digit thousand stacks
Had to re-up, see what's up with my peeps
Toyota deal-athon had it cheap on the Jeeps
See who got smoked, what rumors was spread
Last I heard I was dead, with six to the head
Then I got the phone call
It couldn't hit me harder
We got infiltrated, like Nino at the Carter
Heard TEC got murdered in a
Town I never heard of
By some bitch named Alberta
Over nickel-plated burners
And my bitch swear to God she won't snitch
I told her when she hit the
Bricks I'll make the hooker rich
Conspiracy, she'll be home in three
Until then I looks out for the whole family

A true G, that's me, blowin' like a bubble
In the everyday struggle

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of B.I.G.'s "One Day" reflect on the current state of Nigeria and hope for a better future. The song opens with a message of change, where the artist emphasizes that things will change, but it won't be easy. The following lines bring up society's unequal distribution of resources, where the poor suffer and are taken advantage of while the wealthy benefit. It's a commentary on the corrupt, greedy politicians and the way they work, making and breaking promises for power and profit.

The chorus emphasizes once again that change is needed, and there is a long way to go before things get better in Nigeria. The artist speaks about being the pilot for a New Nigeria and knowing that there might be turbulence, but he is confident they will make it to a cruising point. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus, saying that things will change, but the fight for change will be long and difficult.

In summary, the song "One Day" is a message of hope for a better future for Nigeria, but also a commentary on the current state of the country and the need for change.

what I love about this series is how Rich constantly has computer problems. "Gotta max out the storage space right babe?". and instead of backing up videos to some kind of file share or moving them to external hard drives. he just goes out and buys a new computer and repeats the cycle. legend.

@christian vaye they were filming like 12-14 hours a day and cutting and chopping what they wanted

Has your classmate realized by now that he can purchase iCloud storage space much cheaper than he can a whole new phone?

christian vaye

how tf do max out storage on a desk top computer lmao

Project Aplomado

That's a modern problem. Especially with jammed up phones due to the number of screenshots and videos cashe we gather. I have a classmate who legit have 3 phones two of which he bought consecutively just cause he has 'too much date' and he's lazy to delete or move them. More power to apple imo.

So funny not

Life is precious guys. He only had 18 months left on this planet when this video was made. Who would've thought it seeing him here. Make the most of each day like Rich did.
