In Paul's teen years, DJing and playing in local bands had developed simultaneously. Shortly after, he hooked up with Ace Beat Records and recorded his first solo project a few years later while working at Club Sensation and Studios. Shank was introduced to Paul and the rest is history still being made. B.O.P. was formed in the early 90's. Realizing the strength of the team, B.O.P. decided to take on producing dance music full time. In titling most of they're A side track mixes as "B.O.P. Til U Drop", that's exactly what listeners all over the world were in store for. Traveling through outer space
Reborn in the stratosphere and Saturn-bound
Flying fast and miles off the ground
Jumped from the spaceship just to look around
And shot off his gun without making a sound
King of this brand new place
Davy, Davy Crockett
Traveling through outer space
Off went his rocket at the speed of light
Flying so fast there was no day or night
Messing around with the fabric of time
He knows who's guilty 'fore there's even a crime
Davy, Davy Crockett
The buckskin astronaut
Davy, Davy Crockett
There's more than we were taught
Hiding in the cargo was a robot drone
Programmed to destroy Davy's spaceship home
Davy switched out his brains, now the drone's a dog clone
Named him Copernicus and threw him a bone
Davy, Davy Crockett
King of this brand new place

The lyrics of B.O.P.'s "Dancing In Outer Space" paint a vivid and imaginative picture of Davy Crockett as a cosmic traveler exploring the vast expanse beyond Earth. The mention of being "reborn in the stratosphere and Saturn-bound" suggests a transformation or rebirth of Davy as he embarks on this interstellar journey. The imagery of him "flying fast and miles off the ground" conveys a sense of exhilaration and freedom as he navigates through the unknown reaches of space.
As Davy jumps from his spaceship to explore the surroundings, the lyrics describe him shooting off his gun without making a sound, illustrating his bold and fearless nature as he ventures into uncharted territories. The repetition of the refrain "Davy, Davy Crockett, King of this brand new place" emphasizes his newfound role as a leader or pioneer in this cosmic realm, symbolizing his command over his newfound environment.
The verses further delve into Davy's adventures in space, portraying him as a trailblazer pushing the limits of speed and time with his rocket traveling at the speed of light. His ability to perceive guilt before a crime is committed hints at a heightened intuition or awareness, suggesting a deeper connection to the mysteries of the universe. The lyrics challenge the conventional wisdom by asserting that there is more to Davy Crockett than what history has taught, portraying him as a multifaceted and enigmatic figure.
The narrative takes a twist with the introduction of a robot drone hidden in the cargo, programmed to sabotage Davy's spaceship. However, Davy outwits the drone by swapping its brains and transforming it into a loyal companion named Copernicus. This act of redemption and compassion showcases Davy's resourcefulness and empathy, highlighting his ability to turn adversaries into allies. The closing refrain reiterates Davy's status as a king in this cosmic domain, underscoring his resilience and adaptability as he continues his journey through outer space, forever exploring and pushing the boundaries of possibility.
