but there is a difference between moving stuff on the ground and moving stuff up a steep hill.

the pyramids in egypt have an angle of 51 degrees seen from the ground.

So lifting those rocks to such heights is a totally different story.

and then not even talking about cutting them.

and also the astrology involved, cause many pyramids around the world form a line, even tho those civilizations didnt knew each other.

and the pyramids also point to certain things in space (but i cant remember which ones)

@irenafarm

I got an undergrad degree in history 40 years ago and NO ONE with any credibility ever assumes that “hunter gatherers” were/are stupid. The “official narrative” (which isn’t actually a thing but whatever) focuses on technological advancement. Not because we assume that basal technologies are inferior. It’s that certain technologies usually make big changes to the society in question. So, towns and then cities with centralized government, usually follow specialized crop agriculture. Industry usually follows metallurgy. Etc.

We’re definitely rethinking what decentralized societies could accomplish. But again, we’ve been making that change in our thinking since the 1960s at least. The change in thinking came from advances in radiometric dating, archeological/paleological discoveries, finally abandoning the Christian Bible as a guidebook for ancient history, and above all, the civil rights movements that forced scholarly communities to examine their assumptions about the supposed exceptionalism of whyte society.

I remember reading a kids’ book about the Indus Valley civilization, in the late 1970’s! They talked about how there was evidence of running water and septic systems, nearly 5000 years ago!

This is why I dislike people like Hancock so much. He attracts people with discussions of vanished worlds, which are legitimately something we all should be familiar with. But then he tells outright lies about those ancient people. And I get SO PISSSED on their behalf.

Hancock does the exact thing he claims “mainstream” scholarship does. He constructs a narrative that’s only tenable to people who also believe all the rest of his conspiracy theories. His followers have to stay inside his system of lies.

People who object to his premises are belittled, and his followers are told exactly what to believe about people who falsify his claims. His followers “debate” objections with personal attacks and appeals to Hancock’s authority.

It’s very cult-adjacent.
