Skinny Mane
What's up man?
(C'mon) I need you to spit that shit skinny
I am, you know I am
(C'mon Skinny)
You know I am (Skinny Mane)
(Spit that shit)
Aye check this out
Every fucking word skinny
B4
Grew up in the trenches
A lotta niggas they aint make it out
4033 Running in and outta my Grandma house
Looked up to the street niggas and pushas
Now they in the ground
Had to change my ways couldn't let
My momma put me in the ground
Now I'm 23 got my own seed
Gotta stay living now
Gotta stay on p
Can't move around without that
4 Pound
This city so wicked
Gotta watch yo niggas close now
Keep the circle tight try to backdoe
You gone get blowed down
Staying out the way that's what you supposed to do
They say the ones who envy you the most
Be the ones who close to you
Don't let nobody get too close
Never get comfortable
All them L's turned into lessons
Devil keep approaching dude
Gotta stay awake cuz them nightmares
Be having me so confused
PTSD, Depression, Anxiety just to name a few
Doctor cant help me dont want no Meds but this good gas will do
Gotta calm my nerves
Or else that shit just
Gone fuck wit my mood
So much violence in the city
Can't sit too long cuz niggas plot
Always keep a slamma with me
I won't die I'ma buck my glock
Round of shots woke me up out my Sleep
Came from the other block
Pray it aint none of my people
Every minute bodies drop
R.I.P to Man Man 4
He got hit with body shots
But he was hardbody
Last time I seen him was on T-block
Wish I could see him out here today
Know he'd be bucking big ol' knots
Forever living through his lil cuz
Lil bra stay focused on that guap
Grew up in the trenches
Lotta niggas they aint make it out
4033 Running in and outta my Grandma house
Looked up to the street niggas and pushas
Now they in the ground
Had to change my ways couldn't let
My momma put me in the ground
Now Im 23 got my own seed
Gotta stay living now
Gotta stay on p
Cant move around without that
4 Pound
This city so wicked
Gotta watch yo niggas Close now

Keep the circle tight try to backdoe
You gone get blowed down

I used to diss this kind of music endlessly in the 90s. Pretty boys with personal trainers singing songs written by some 40something guy with backing music written and performed by other people. Then the early 2000s happened, all these boy bands got a million tattoos and piercings, learned 2 chords on the guitar and suddenly they were "authentic" - not like those "fake" boy bands. They became a Disney Channel punch line. And then I really started appreciating these 90s groups for at least being able to sing without being horribly pretentious. They were what they were. They didn't pretend to be "authentic" or "serious artists" akin to some of the great rock bands and singers. They were just male models who could sing catchy songs. Nothing more, nothing less. They delivered exactly what they promised. Starting probably with bands like Good Charlotte and the Jonas Brothers, it was still the same boy bands from the 90s, but they learned a couple of guitar chords if that, and relied heavily on autotune, while claiming to be "real." This song sounds autotuned, but it's also not doing the "I'm so real and authentic" thing either. In 2022, I can't believe I just admire music for being honest about what it is. A product for screaming teenage girls. Thank you, B4-4.

@reckonerwheel5336

This is similar to my "journey". I mean, I was a 9 - 12 year old girl when I unironically loved a lot of boyband/girl group pop music, then in my teens, somehow learned what "real" and "good" music was and scoffed at what I listened to as a kid. "Real" was apparently the Strokes in their suit jackets and drainpipe jeans. Then my taste went full circle several years ago, and now I listen to Kpop and indie rock. In a way, fans are the ones who place the image of authenticity onto their favourite bands, and really, it's up to the listener if authenticity is the most important thing about music for them. B44, Spice Girls, BTS -- their purpose is to sing and dance so folks can have fun. End of the day, I listen to music to have a good time -- doesn't matter to me if the performer wrote the song or not.
