I think Stevie Ray Vaughan was the youngest performer on stage. I can't stop thinking about what a thrill it must have been for him to share the stage AND perform with so many of the greatest blues men and women of our time. I have no idea what he was thinking/feeling when he was playing at the time, but I'd be willing to bet (partly because of the gigantic smile on his face) he was having the time of his life... and that his "dream" had come true. He had become one of them.

I was there in the audience for this concert, I was into heavy metal back then , my mother took me to this concert the energy was electric I had goosebumps with every artist , Dr John and Etta James did this song that made my heart skip a beat this concert was at a point when I was going through a break up with my first girlfriend and I realized music can save my soul..

SRV's music helped save my soul when I was homeless 2 yrs ago by kind of a devine suggestion, so to speak. I knew of him back in the day but never listened to his music. Why? I don't know. But I am sure SRV's biggest fangirl now!

Man, I wish I could have been at this show. It really doesn't get better than this. This is music. Pure, undiminished, simple, essential, total excellence. After hearing this, it makes you wonder why others even try. Oh, and is it likely that, 30 years from now, anyone will be listening to any of today's so-called "music?" I think not. Back then it wasn't uncommon to see various musicians from different groups or even genres jamming out together. They all had a love for the music first and knew how to play. Saw another jam session before and it had Clapton, Ronnie Wood and a bunch of others just as recognizable and I think Phil Collins was on drums on that one too .....what a life that guy has had to play with so many of the legends, having fun and witnessing magic the whole time
