Baby, I won't let you leave if you believe in me
And I always set you free from all those yesteryears
But you don't know how much,
I got believe in you.
I was staring at your sholder shivering
In such a coldest summer breeze
Look for the line between love and friends
We'll be twisting ourselves again.
I was standing at the corner on the street
Watching the wheels turning free
Waiting to get back on my feet
Reading the line between night and day
I'll be twisting myself again
Follow me
Baby, I won't let you leave if you believe in me
And I always set you free from all those yesteryears
But you don't know how much
Follow me
Baby I won't let you leave if you believe in me
And I always set you free from all those yesteryears
But you don't know how much
I got believe in you
But you don't know how much
I got believe in you
But you don't know how much
I got belive in you.
The lyrics of "Follow Me" by Beck Mongolian Chop Squad appear to speak to a deep and loyal love between two individuals who have been through difficult times together. The opening lines, "Baby, I won't let you leave if you believe in me / And I always set you free from all those yesteryears," suggest a sense of assurance and support, as if the singer is committing to caring for their partner and helping them to move forward from the past.
The mood of the song takes a slightly melancholic turn with the lines "I was staring at your shoulder shivering / In such a coldest summer breeze," hinting at a sense of instability or yearning. The singer reflects on the difficulty of navigating the line "between love and friends," suggesting that their relationship may have its complications but that they are committed to working through them.
Overall, "Follow Me" seems to be a heartfelt declaration of love and loyalty, promising to stand by the other person no matter the obstacles. The line, "But you don't know how much / I got believe in you," highlights the importance of trust and faith in a relationship, and cements the song's emotional resonance.

The energy of this scene in the episode is amazing. Koyuki’s nervousness about playing in front of a crowd, then Maho coming along, and the harried panic as the singer gets too drunk, Koyuki you do it! and then SHOWTIME... the pace is so kinetic and frantic, and to just get pulled along, then when they sing it’s just gels and rocks. It felt totally real the first time I watched it. Still does.

Damn this show just has such a nostalgic air to it. I saw it back in 2016 but even when I watched it then it felt like I should have seen it in 2006. It’s always felt nostalgic for me and it still does lol.

This was one of the first anime I ever watched, I remember watching this back in ‘07. Didn’t know they had a manga until a few years back too so I read it. Wish they had continued the anime til the end cos the manga is a masterpiece imo

@Mei What's it like reading a music manga? I feel like I wouldn't be able to get over the lack of music.
Mei
@ImmaSingWhatIWant it might be a little weird at first, but it doesn’t take long to get used to it. The way the author portrays everything is simply beautiful and very well done. Another great example is Kono oto tomare (one of my favourite mangas) which I highly recommend
Unquestionable
The dub for this came out right when I was about to drop out of college. I must have spent months listening to the soundtrack and wishing I had gone with starting a band and having a close knit group of friends instead of running away to try and "better myself'. Fifteen years later and I'm only now starting to get my shit together and this was a big inspiration.
