What ya got to say?
I said hey, hey, hey
What ya got to say? (Woo, yeah)
Hollywood, Hollywood swinging (that's nice)
Hollywood, Hollywood swinging (Hollywood swinging)
When I'm walking down the street
I wanna say hey (give me my crown)
I don't have the time (give me my crown)
I said hey, hey, hey
What you got to say? (woo, yeah)
Hollywood, Hollywood swinging (that's nice)
Hollywood, Hollywood swinging
Came a real long way to make it here
Ain't no thing you could do to change it here
It's a party on the moon, the gang is here
No games are here, we reigning here
Ten toes on the roof, we hanging there
It's a treasure you could never take in there
Yeah, a whole new feeling we chasing here
No games are here, we reigning here
(Hollywood swinging)
(Hollywood swinging)
(Hollywood swinging, Hollywood swinging)
(Hollywood swinging, Hollywood swinging)
Where is my crown? Give me my crown
This is my town, you're in my town
The lyrics to BROCKHAMPTON's song "Hollywood Swinging" can be interpreted as a celebration of their success and dominance in the entertainment industry, specifically in Hollywood. The repetitive chant of "Hey, hey, hey, what ya got to say?" reflects their confidence and defiance towards any criticism or doubt they may face. They are essentially asserting their power and demanding recognition for their achievements. The repetition of "Hollywood swinging" further emphasizes their dominance and control over the industry.
The lyrics also touch upon the theme of self-empowerment and individuality. When the singer states, "Move my hips and my feet, I wanna say hey, I don't have the time," it can be seen as a rejection of conforming to societal expectations and norms. They are asserting their independence and refusing to be restrained or controlled by anyone else. The line "Where is my crown? Give me my crown, this is my town, you're in my town" further reinforces this idea of claiming their rightful place at the top and demanding respect and recognition.
Overall, "Hollywood Swinging" can be seen as an anthem of empowerment, confidence, and asserting one's own identity and success in the face of doubters and naysayers.
