Psychologically and emotionally weak people like Julie will not find peace. Only strong people ever find peace. Something Julie's parents did to her, or didn't do for her, made her weak. As a strong person, I cannot imagine abandoning my child, ESPECIALLY if I felt guilty about accidentally harming her. That would make me MORE devoted to her care. But then, I had very good parents, who created a strong person in me.

What an extraordinary story and it touched my heart completely. Terry's story is so powerful and she is absolutely amazing. I cried when she proudly hugged the dad and Nicky after the school performance - it was such a beautiful moment. I think some of us just take so many things in life for granted and always ask for more, but little do we know, happiness doesn't cost a penny; being there for our loved ones is the least we can do when they need us; and learning to self-love as well as accept who we are without worrying about what people think of you is the most powerful thing ever. And her mom ,can't really call her Terrie's mom, had the audacity to say " I will always be there for her because she is my little girl." Where was she when Terry needed her the most? That was the cowards way out. Yes she started the fire "as long as she was still screaming I new she was still alive" why didn't she go into the bedroom Terry may have had less burns and mom may have had some but at least mom would have tried to save Terry instead of waiting outside and hearing the baby scream. I know that Terry is all grown up and married and has a child now.I would like to see another documentary about what Terry is up to now. Very courageous girl and a very loving father and really calling Nicky the step mom is wrong because she truly is Terry's mom. I saw the first documentary about Terry and her father and it made me very angry about her mom but now after seeing and hearing what happened from the ladies own mouth makes me want to swear like a sailor.

Terry and her father and stepmom are fabulous and so loving! However, Terry’s mom choosing to not be in her life is inexcusable. The moment you become a parent everything stops being about you and the focus is always on your children, so the fact that it’s just “easier” on her mother’s conscience to not be in Terri‘s life is selfish. Apart from anything else, I can’t get past a Mother who would expose her daughter to passive cigarette smoke, and what kind of mother smokes a cigarette while holding her infant, including smoking in the babies room!? I probably wouldn’t “settle” and go to sleep, if my mother was holding me while blowing cigarette smoke in my face!

@Lettie Grant I do understand that Terri ist not sure if she wants to meet her. I can unterstand her "mother", that she can't forgive herself - but I can't understand how this unbelievable terrible accident could happen.
I have doubts in the cigarette story. On a usual table it would just stop glowing. It needs a lot for such an inferno (what is also unforgivable) . I wonder if her mother did do other things than to forget a glowing cigarette. She said, Terri didn"t want to sleep. Perhaps she did something that usual people (esp. mothers!) wouldn't be able to think about.

But Terri - what a wonderful and amazing girl! I love her 💖.
I just cam't imagine the pain, that she must have gone through. Burns hurt so much!
