Baader Meinhof was a one-off project of the Auteurs' Luke Haines, who enlisted a clutch of studio associates old and new (producer Phil Vinall, cellist James Banbury) to record 1996's Baader Meinhof, a record that mixed themes of the '70s German urban terrorist group it took its name from with some bizarre avant-funk. As a tangent to Haines' primary outlet in the Auteurs, the Baader Meinhof record was recorded quite cheaply but is nonetheless a valuable link in Haines' long and winding productive road, which would eventually include Black Box Recorder and material released under his own name.

Man, this is mega super explanation for so many crashes. I knew that there was a name for it.
I remember when I bought Renault I saw Renaul everywhere, the same was with Mondeo and with Focus.

Nice video bud. The DVLA have a nice video they use for this kind of thing, you might have seen it, there is a vid on youtube. There are people running around throwing a ball to each other, they ask you to count how many passes they make, as long as you do this you don't notice a man in a gorilla suit walk through the scene until they tell you and you see him when they play the same clip again.

having both bike and car makes it really easy to know where and when you would expect to see a bike, making having a moped a requirement before getting a car should be law cause it would reduce motorcycle and push bike accidents

Kind of agree but I don't think two wheels is for everyone so enforcing it might be tough. I do feel that learning to drive should have a specific section on cycles\motorcycles to help raise awareness that many things travel on the roads.

So if people learn how to watch, and not specific searching for cars but just looking for any kind of vehicle then there is no problem... I've never been in the situation that I didn't see a biker or a car. Because I always search for something on the road, and not a specific vehicle.

This applies to other day to day random stuff. But you as a biker and car driver (im assuming) normally have another predisposition to spot bikes and cars. Searching for ''something'' is the best way to avoid accidents. Because I know of this ''rule'' I always stop and ask is there anything coming...

The woman crossing the road wasn't suffering any Baader-Meinhof condition, she was listening to her ipod and didn't see your indicators from what I see. 2nd one I've no idea how that would be 'defined' as a classic example as you've no idea why he/she stopped?
I'm also not sure why the Baader-Meinhof is in anyway a factor, as this is related to frequency illusion, seeing something more often once you've noticed something. Not being an arse MrT, but the definition isn't correct.

The main reason people don't see bikes is because they don't drive one, so they couldn't really care if they injure one, if they did, they'd check twice, the second reason is we're narrow and easily get lost into the background, although I agree that people are looking primarily for two headlights or a car shape rather than the occasional bike. There's also an interesting study that Hi-Vis gear makes little to no difference, which probably helps support the theory that they just don't look 'well' enough, to busy trying to find Magic FM, or more likely load up the next level of Candy Crush on their mobile.
