I’m from the uk, and I’m doing it for my gcse exams (kind of like finals in American high schools i think?? it’s what gets us into colleges, we will be sixteen when we leave). it’s coursework, and counts for I think a third of our grade, so it is pretty important, but basically I just decided to go all out and make it the best it can possibly be!
