Later as a band, they caught the attention of Arista Records president and industry music mogul Clive Davis who signed them at a showcase in Los Angeles thanks to their impressive three-song demo, home made video and consistent sold out performances in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Babylon A.D. recorded two critically acclaimed CDs; the self titled, Babylon A.D. produced by Simon Hanhart (Waysted, Killer Dwarfs, Yngwie Malmsteen) and Nothing Sacred, produced by Tom Werman (Motley Crue, Cheap Trick, Ted Nugget, LA Guns) scored three number one songs at Metal radio and reached gold on their first release. Constant touring throughout the 1990s and several MTV videos made them one of hard rock fans favorites.
After being shook down by their record company to go in a WANK musical direction and then refusing to sell out, Babylon A.D. were dropped by Arista in late 1993. The timing was a blessing in disguise, the new Seattle "Grunge" Genre had a strangle hold on Retail, Radio and MTV forcing the market for hard rock and metal to be just about over. Disillusioned by the industry BULLSHIT, the band took a five-year break and never officially broke up.
In 1998, a recharged Babylon A.D. reformed minus Reid, who no longer wanted to tour. Jamey's younger brother Eric Pacheco was brought in as the new bassist. The band released two more CDs on Apocalypse Records: Live in your Face in 1999, a compilation of live tracks from their US Tours and American Blitzkrieg in 2002, both produced by Derek Davis, were well received by their fans.
They cite Led Zeppelin, UFO, Aerosmith, AC/DC, and Montrose as influences.
Davis, Eric and Jamey Pacheco are currently in the band American Blues Box (www.americanbluesbox.com), but Babylon A.D. will likely resurface every now and again.
Ron is currently working with singer Jeffrey Winslow in the band Syrym (www.syrym.com), and their debut album will be released in Summer 2008.

But always got it wrong
Day by day you played your games with me
But there's no way you'll win
But the time has come
I'll start another light
And now I'm gonna stand
Kick your desperate balls
It's my command the mighty fall
Kick your desperate balls
Received the blow forever tall
You got desperate balls
Double talk and desperate lies
You failed to see and recognize
So sorry for your puny minds
No salvation for your kind
You tried to take me on
For you I'm way too strong
I showed you how to stand
Stand on my own - I'll always be a man
Kick your desperate balls
So watch your back or I might call
Kick your desperate balls
From left or right or from below
You got desperate balls
You call those balls?
Feel the weight of mine!
You tried to take me on
For you I'm way too strong
I showed you how to stand
Stand on my own - I'll always be a man
Kick your desperate balls
It's my command the mighty fall
Kick your desperate balls
Received the blow forever tall
Kick your desperate balls
So watch your back or I might call
Kick your desperate balls
From left or right or from below
You got desperate balls
Feel the weight of mine!
The song "Desperate" by Babylon A.D. is a powerful and assertive message about standing up for oneself and not allowing others to bring you down. The lyrics tell the story of someone who has been mistreated and manipulated for too long, but has finally found the strength to fight back. The first verse acknowledges the attempts of the other person to be nice, but ultimately failing and playing games instead. The singer, however, declares that they will start their own path, becoming their own person and standing on their own two feet. The chorus is a battle cry, telling their oppressor to face the consequences of their actions and feel the weight of their own desperate and futile attempts to control the singer. The second verse furthers this theme, with the singer calling out the lies, failures, and puny minds of those who have tried to bring them down. The weight of their own power and strength is felt in the final line of the song, in which the singer asserts that they will always be a man.
This song is an anthem for anyone who has felt held down or oppressed by someone else's actions. It is a call to take back one's power and stand up for oneself. The use of phrases like "mighty fall" and "received the blow forever tall" emphasize the sense of triumph over adversity, even if there is pain involved in the process. The song is both empowering and cathartic, allowing listeners to channel their own feelings of frustration or anger into a message of self-assertion.

too bad these guys weren't bigger than they were. Good songwriting, musically talented & a little more edgy than most of the 80s bands. Very underated. They at least got a song on RoboCop 2

These guys were (and still are touring) awesome. Can't believe they didn't make it big time. They had a great look (excellent rock and roll hair) and his voice is amazing.
