The precursor to BTO was the band Brave Belt, which was formed in 1970 by Randy Bachman and Chad Allan (both of The Guess Who), Robbie Bachman and Fred Turner. An original form of the group included musician Keith Emerson of The Nice (and later of Emerson, Lake & Palmer), but he was dropped due to illness. After two moderately successful Brave Belt albums came out, Allan was replaced by Tim Bachman, the third of the Bachman brothers, and the band changed its name to Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
Hailing from Winnipeg, Canada as stated before, BTO released their first album under that name in the spring of 1973. Their second album was Bachman-Turner Overdrive II, and it became a massive hit in the US and their native Canada. It also yielded their best-remembered single, "Takin' Care of Business" written by Randy Bachman. BTO were one of the early hard rock bands which opted for songs backed by catchy melodies and powerful riffing. The band also promoted a strait-laced lifestyle due to the Mormon religious beliefs of Randy Bachman.
Tim Bachman left because of limited performance skills and personal lifestyle issues, and was replaced by Blair Thornton. The first album with the modified lineup, 1974's Not Fragile became a hit, including the #1 single "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet". The band continued to steadily produce successful albums through the mid-1970s including Four Wheel Drive and Head On (both 1975).
After the release of Freeways in 1977, Randy Bachman left the group for a solo career and another band, Ironhorse. Randy was replaced by Jim Clench, formerly of April Wine, and BTO released a pair of albums before breaking up in 1979. They reunited in 1983, leading to a lawsuit between the brothers, as one group, led by Randy, toured as Bachman-Turner Overdrive and another, led by Robbie, toured as BTO (Robbie Bachman, Fred Turner, Blair Thornton, and Randy Murray). Interestingly enough, in 1984 the line up for Bachman-Turner's first studio LP in 5 years consisted of Randy and Tim Bachman, Fred Turner and Garry Peterson on drums. In 1986 they were the opening band for the newly reformed Van Halen. By that time Fred Turner had left the band, probably to join the "other" BTO. Robbie Bachman's BTO toured and performed until early 2005.
Musicians Randy Bachman and Fred Turner reunited in 2010 for a tour and collaboration on new songs. In 2010, they notably played the half-time show at the Grey Cup in Edmonton, AB.

You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet
Bachman-Turner Overdrive Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
She took my heart away
She said, I've had it comin' to me
But I wanted it that way
I say that any love is good lovin'
So I took what I could get
She looked at me with them brown eyes
And said, You ain't seen nothin' yet
B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
Here's something that you're never gonna forget
B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
And you're thinkin' you ain't been around, that's right
And now I'm feelin' better
'Cause I found out for sure
She took me to her doctor
And he told me of a cure
He said that any love is good love
So I took what I could get, yes, I took what I could get
And then she looked at me with them big brown eyes
And said, You ain't seen nothin' yet
B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
Here's something, here's something
That you're never gonna forget, baby
B-B-B-Baby, you know, you know, you know
You just ain't seen nothin' yet
You need an education, got to go to school
Any lovin' is good lovin'
So I took what I could get
Yes I took what I could get
And then, and then, and then
She looked at me with them big brown eyes
And said, you ain't seen nothin' yet
Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
Here's something, here's something
Here's a lover you're never gonna forget, baby
B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
You ain't been around
You ain't seen nothin' yet, that's what she told me
She said, I need an education, go to school
I know I ain't seen nothin' yet
I know I ain't seen nothin' yet, mmh, mmh, mmh
I got something for you right now
Feels good, alright, how do you do that
But I ain't seen nothin' yet
But I deserve it one of these days
But I ain't seen nothin' yet
I ain't seen nothin' yet
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
I ain't seen nothin' yet, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait
If you want to show me
What I ain't seen, where I ain't been
The lyrics to this classic rock song tell the story of a man who meets a woman who he describes as a devil woman. Despite her negative reputation, he willingly falls in love with her and takes what he can get from the relationship. The woman tells him that he hasn't seen anything yet, promising him something he'll never forget. The man takes this to heart and is optimistic about the relationship, feeling better once he finds out that there is a cure for his love sickness. He admits that any love is good love and he is willing to take what he can get. The woman continues to promise him something unforgettable and states that he needs an education and to go to school to achieve it.
The song is not about a specific woman, but rather a tribute to a phrase said by Randy Bachman's brother, Gary. Gary had a speech impediment and often stuttered when he spoke, leading him to say "you ain't seen nothing yet" repeatedly. Randy found this amusing and decided to use it as inspiration for a song.

Charts today are crap. But there is good music out there. You have to dig for it.
There is one reason why new songs have a hard time to compete:
you don't have good memories and good feelings (yet) to the new songs.
If you open your heart to give the new music a chance you may like it.
If you like rock'n roll with screaming guitars
