Their hits include “Shooting Star,” “Bad Company,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” “Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy,” "Ready for Love," and “Can’t Get Enough,” most of which are off of the albums Straight Shooter and Bad Company.
In the mid 80`s Rodgers & Burrell left the band. New singer Brian Howe, who had worked with Ted Nugent earlier, made 4 albums with the band. Year 1990`s LP Holy water contained big hit "If you needed somebody". Their style was then more like melodic rock.
In mid 1990`s Howe left the band and solo artist Robert Hart replaced him. Also other guitarist Dave Colwell & basist Rick Wills joined to group. In 2000`s Paul Rodgers came back to make the new album with old band members Kirke, Ralphs & other guys. They got a hit with the song "Joe Fabulous" what was number 1 on Classic Rock Radio. After that recording all original members left the band and new line-up members came to band. Robert Hart became again the band´s singer.
Is That All There Is to Love
Bad Company Lyrics

When I came home early one morning
And another man's arms were holding you tight
Now a young girl cries herself to sleep
'Cause her daddy ran away
And she doesn't know when she'll see him again
She's living from day to day
Is that all there is to love?
She finally turns and walk away
Is that all there is to love?
And face a little more everyday
I can still remember lying in my mother's arms
How it makes me feel so good
Now all it is, is a memory
'Cause it make me feel just like a child should
Now an old man sits by the telephone
Faded photos on the wall
You see his wife died ten long years ago
And his children never seemed to call
Is that all there is to love?
And she finally turn and walk away
Is that all there is to love?
And face a little more everyday
Well, no, no, no, no, no
Is that all there is to love?
That's all there is to love
I guess that's all there is
Love, love, la la la la
The lyrics to Bad Company's "Is That All There Is to Love" tell the story of love and loss through the perspective of three different individuals. The first verse speaks from the point of view of a man who believed he had a perfect relationship with his partner, only to come home one day to find that she was in the arms of another man. The second verse tells the story of a young girl whose father has abandoned her and how she is struggling to cope. Lastly, the third verse speaks from the point of view of an old man who has lost his wife, and who feels forgotten by his children who never call.
The chorus repeats the question "Is that all there is to love?" as a reflection on the themes of the verses. The song seems to be asking if love is always going to end in heartache and loneliness, questioning whether there is anything more substantial to it.
The song's lyrics are relatable for anyone who has experienced heartbreak or loss, and it speaks to a pervasive sense of disillusionment that can come with growing old. The repeated phrase "Is that all there is to love?" creates a sense of resignation and a lack of hope, as though the characters in the song have come to accept their situations as emblematic of the human condition.
