Satisfaction
Band A Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We might walk through This life wondering
If it will Ever make sense
But before now I had been blinded
By your love that left me here bent

I don't need your Satisfaction
I don't need your self-control
I might get some bead reactions
But I'll never loose my soul

And the rain reminds me of you
Sitting here alone wondering what to do
And I live and I'd die for you
But its over now and its time to be true

I don't need your Satisfaction
I don't need your self-control
I might get some bead reactions
But I'll never loose my soul

Yeah!! I don't need your Satisfaction
I don't need your self-control
I might get some bead reactions
But I'll never loose my soul
But I'm gaining hope
Yeah yeah yeah
Gaining hope

Yeah yeah yeah
Gaining hope

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Band A's song "Satisfaction" capture the emotions of someone who has experienced heartbreak and self-discovery. The opening lines reflect the uncertainty and confusion that often accompany personal struggles. The singer questions whether their life will ever make sense, perhaps suggesting a sense of aimlessness or lack of fulfillment.

The next lines reveal that the singer had been blinded by a past love that left them emotionally bent. This suggests that they were so invested in this relationship that it consumed them, perhaps causing them to lose sight of their own needs and desires. This experience may have resulted in a feeling of betrayal or disappointment, leading them to seek a more authentic and fulfilling path.

The chorus emphasizes the singer's independence and refusal to rely on external sources for satisfaction and self-control. They assert that they don't need the validation or restraint imposed by the past love. This declaration implies a newfound self-assuredness and freedom, as they recognize that their worth and fulfillment come from within.

The verse following the chorus likens the rain to the presence of the previous love interest. The singer finds themselves alone and uncertain about what to do, feeling the weight of the past relationship. They express their deep devotion and willingness to sacrifice for this person, but at the same time acknowledge that it is over and time for them to be true to themselves.

The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the singer's rejection of external influences and their commitment to maintaining their integrity and sense of self. The line "But I'm gaining hope" in the final moments of the song indicates that despite the pain and challenges they have faced, they are finding optimism and strength within themselves. This suggests that they are embracing their own growth and resilience as they move forward.

Overall, the lyrics of "Satisfaction" explore themes of self-discovery, resilience, and the importance of finding fulfillment within oneself rather than relying on others for validation or control. The song captures an individual's journey from heartbreak to personal empowerment, ultimately expressing the idea that by staying true to oneself, hope and growth can be found.

I always thought that a great name for a Stones tribute band could be The Trickling Pebbles

Now I get the whole cover band thing and that’s cool. It is better to be able to relive the great music in a concert setting. However, the prices range from 20 to 200 dollars. I will never pay 200 for a bunch of imposters to ride the financial coattails of the original.
