(You won't even)
(You gon' shine)
I just wanna talk until your phone dies
I don't know why
Girl, you got me so high
So, I been tryna make up some alone time
Just to get away (just to get away)
I think I could spend with you my whole life
Fuck these hoes lies
You know they got no lives
You know they got no lives
One hunnid
Sense somebody true, got a feeling
And every girl I meet got a ceiling
And you know I'ma always keep it real with you
One hunnid, one hunnid
Got all of the things I wanted
One hunnid, one hunnid
Do all of the things that I wanna do
One hunnid, one hunnid
Did all of the drugs that I wanted
One hunnid, one hunnid
You're the only drug that I wanna do
I'ma rock the bow-tie through the whole night
You won't even show light 'til it's show time
And you gon' shine so bright, so bright
'Luminate the whole sky, oh my
My niggas gon' be drunk as shit, talkin' shit
They gon' joke, yeah, life is over, toast to this
I know this a new beginning
I know I find that shit obvious since you descended
It's you who did it, one hunnid (keep it one hunnid with you)
Might be too early for talking 'bout marriage
I got some business I gotta attend
You got some dreams to achieve on your end
I know that we the busiest of bees
But I hope we get to be at the end
End of the day ain't nothing 'bout you basic
You the woman that can teach me some patience
One hunnid, one hunnid
Got all of the things I wanted
One hunnid, one hunnid
Do all of the things that I wanna do
One hunnid, one hunnid
Did all of the drugs that I wanted
One hunnid, one hunnid
You're the only drug that I wanna do
I just wanna talk until your phone dies
I don't know why
Girl, you got me so high
So, I been tryna make up some alone time
On a low time
Just to get away (just to get away)
I just wanna talk until your phone dies
I don't know why
Girl, you got me so high
So, I been tryna make up some alone time
On a low time
Just to get away (just to get away)
I just wanna talk until your pho- (we're sorry)
The overall theme of the song PDA by Bas centers around the desire for a deeper connection with a significant other. The lyrics suggest that the person singing the song is hoping to spend a lot of time with his partner and get to know them better. He wants to talk to them until their phone dies, indicating that he wants to have a long conversation without interruptions. The line "Girl, you got me so high" is most likely a reference to how infatuated he is with her.
The song touches on the idea that people tend to put on a façade or hide their true selves when they meet someone new. The line, "every girl I meet got a ceiling," implies that they have a limit to how much they will let someone see before closing themselves off. However, the person singing the song is promising to always keep it real with his partner, suggesting that he wants a genuine and authentic relationship with them.
One interesting fact about the song PDA is that it features rapper and singer-songwriter, J. Cole, who is also the founder of the record label Dreamville. The song was released on Bas's third studio album, Milky Way, and received widespread critical acclaim. The lyrics are introspective and reflect Bas's personal experiences with love and relationships.
