Never Enough
Beatspoke Lyrics

I feel like I´m swimming upstream
On a river of the whole human race
My wish is to step with the strength to say
That I finally have enough to maintain
Without ambition playing its tricks on me
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
When it´s enough, it´s never enough
When it´s enough, it´s never enough
When it´s enough, it´s never enough
Where does this train break?
Don´t want nobody studying me
Keeping track of my habits
Trying out new ways
To coax me on beaten paths
Selling me more useless bric-a-bracs
Telling me to upgrade
Cutting edge
Stay in the game
Don´t I wanna be included in the new revolution?
One last thing just might complete me
And damn
They can be so convincing
Ah sometimes I wish I could pirate my vision
Jack up my system
With spy bots and ad cops
Junkbusters
Who am I gonna call
When this visual pollution
Turns personal confusion
3000 times day?
3000 times day
And here´s me
Swimming upstream
Trying to maintain
All the while
Being videotaped
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Sometimes I need a little lean landscape
Give my mind and my ambition a break
Change my greed into appreciate
Sometimes I just can´t feel the game
Playing on our worst impulses
With superficiality
Blind obsession spiritual loss
Oh gotta be fed if they wanna meet costs
While we sit back take it all
´Cause we ain´t as good as we thought at all
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
Where does this train break?
When it´s enough, it´s never enough
When it´s enough, it´s never enough
Where does this train break?
The lyrics of Beatspoke's song "Never Enough" express a sense of dissatisfaction and frustration with the societal pressures to constantly strive for more and never be content. The singer declares that they don't want to live in this way and feel like they are swimming against the current of the entire human race. They express a desire to have enough to sustain themselves without falling victim to the tricks of ambition. The repeated question of "Where does this train break?" suggests a longing for a moment of respite or a point at which the relentless pursuit of more comes to an end.
The second paragraph delves into the idea of being constantly observed and influenced by external forces. The singer expresses a distaste for being studied and having their habits tracked, all in the name of coaxing them onto conventional paths. They criticize the consumer culture that constantly tries to convince them that one more thing will complete them, despite the persuasive tactics of marketers and advertisers. The thoughts of wanting to "pirate" their own vision and protect themselves from the overwhelming bombardment of visual pollution highlight the desire for control and a break from the constant pressure.
The third paragraph reflects a longing for simplicity and a reprieve from the relentless game of constantly wanting more. The singer describes the need for a "lean landscape" to give their mind and ambition a break. They seek to transform their greed into appreciation and reject the superficiality and spiritual loss perpetuated by the obsession with material possessions. The lyrics suggest that while society dictates the need to continuously consume and strive for more, the reality is that we are not as fulfilled as we may think.
The final chorus reiterates the theme that "when it's enough, it's never enough." Despite the longing for a break from the pressure, the singer questions where and when this cycle will finally break. The repeated question of "Where does this train break?" reinforces the idea that there seems to be no end to the constant push for more and the dissatisfaction that accompanies it. Overall, the lyrics of "Never Enough" highlight the desire to break free from societal expectations and find contentment in simplicity rather than constantly striving for more.
