Lagrimas Negras
Bebo Valdes & Chucho Valdes Lyrics

Y aunque tú has muerto mis ilusiones
Y aunque tú has muerto mis ilusiones
Tú me quieres dejar
Yo no quiero sufrir
Contigo me voy gitana
Aunque me cueste morir
Contigo me voy gitana
Aunque me cueste morir
The lyrics to Bebo Valdes & Diego Cigala's song Lagrimas Negras express a deep sense of sorrow and pain for the loss of a loved one. The singer describes how this person has abandoned and shattered their dreams, but despite this, they refuse to hold resentment towards them. Instead, they fill their dreams with blessings for this person. The singer is overwhelmed with the immense sadness of their beloved's disappearance, and they cry tears as black as their life.
The second verse repeats the first, emphasizing the depth of the singer's anguish. The final verse changes the theme slightly, speaking of the Guadalquivir River and the gypsy women who do their laundry on its shores. It's a moment of reflection and contemplation, as the singer longs to hold onto the person they love and avoid any further suffering. They vow to leave with their gypsy love, even if it means death.
The song speaks to the deep, painful emotions that arise when love is lost. It also speaks to the complexity of feelings that come with loss, where anger and resentment might be more natural responses, but instead, the singer chooses to bless and honor the person they've lost.
