The album was produced by Graeme Pleeth and it included singles such as Lo Siento, Boba Niña Nice, Angel, and Vivir, which was also chosen as the main theme song for Corazones al límite, another soap opera she briefly appeared in. There were 4 different versions of the album released: the original version "Belinda", Belinda (Repackage) which featured 1 extra track: No Entiendo featuring Andy & Lucas, Belinda (Enchanced) which featured 2 Remixes and 2 Multimedia Tracks, and Belinda: Edicion Especial which included a CD with 18 tracks and a DVD that contained five videos. The albums titled "Belinda" and "Belinda (Enhanced)" are the only albums that are being sold today. The rest were limited editions. In 2005, she collaborated with the Mexican rock band Moderatto on their single Muriendo Lento which is a cover of one of Timbiriche's songs, a Mexican pop group from the 1980s.
Belinda revealed in a program aired by Televisa, "Bailando por un Sueño" and "Bailando por la Boda de Tus Sueño", that EMI wanted her to spend one week in Los Angeles recording "Utopía 2" her newest album in English which will be released in Europe and North America by EMI International on September 25, 2007. She also appeared as a guest star in Buscando Timbiriche la nueva banda. This new CD included tracks in English and a DVD. Her second album "Utopía" reached #3 on the Mexican Charts and has sold over 180,000 copies.
Belinda was nominated in two categories in the 2007 Latin Grammy Awards which were held on November 8th. Her nominations include 'Song of the Year' for "Bella Traición" and 'Best Female Pop Album' for her hit album, "Utopía." On October 18, 2007, Belinda won two awards, Video of the Year for "Bella Traición" and Best Solo Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards Latinoamerica. Belinda also provided vocals for the remix of "Te Quiero" by DJ Flex.
On August 18, 2009, "Sal De Mi Piel" was released on iTunes.
Her latest telenovela, the edgy "Camaleones," aired in Mexico last year and will likely air stateside this summer. The show's theme song is "Sal de Mi Piel," a track on "Carpe Diem," but the first official single is "Egoista," a duet with rapper Pitbull.
With its high-energy, electro-pop-rock sound that's heavy on the attitude of Pink and Katy Perry, the album solidifies the transition from kiddie act to teen diva that Belinda made with her 2006 EMI Televisa release, "Utopia." The set will receive a March 23 release on Capitol Latin in the United States and on EMI in Mexico and Latin America, and is scheduled for a May release in Europe. Previously Belinda recorded on BMG, then signed with the now-defunct joint-venture label EMI Televisa in 2006.
An English-language version of "Egoista," pairing her with a yet-to-be-determined male artist, is in the works for Europe and the States.
For now, she's working on choreography to match her new sound. "You always have to find your own style, and that's what I've achieved on 'Carpe Diem,'" she says. "There's not another Latin artist that's doing this right now."

Carajo, cómo me hiciste sufrir
Me costó mil pedas no llamarte cruda
Y hacerme la dura
Bebo, y salud por to' los besos
¿De qué te sirvió tatuarte mis ojos
Pa' luego borrarlos con otros?
No todo fue lo que me mostrabas
Si supieran cómo tú me tratabas
Me costó mil pedas no llamarte cruda
Y hacerme la dura
Bebo, y salud por to' los besos
¿De qué te sirvió tatuarte mis ojos
Pa' luego borrarlos con otros?
In the song "Cactus" by Belinda, the lyrics express the need for emotional release and healing. The first paragraph sets the tone by stating the desire to get rid of the weight that the heart has been carrying. The line "Porque la terapia ayuda, pero la música sana más cabrón" translates to "Because therapy helps, but music heals even more." This suggests that while therapy can be beneficial, music has a unique power to heal.
The second paragraph conveys a sense of empowerment and self-discovery. Belinda sings about letting go of what brings negativity and pain. The line "Mi pecho no es bodega, todo pa' fuera" means "My chest is not a warehouse, everything goes out." This signifies a refusal to hold onto things that harm her. She also expresses disappointment in someone who did not meet her expectations and caused her suffering.
The third paragraph dives into the coping mechanisms used to deal with the pain. Belinda mentions the belief that everything can be healed with tequila, showing a willingness to temporarily escape through drinking. However, she also recognizes the need to face the wound and applies salt to it metaphorically. The lyrics acknowledge that she finds solace in dancing to the song, highlighting the power of music as a source of comfort and healing.
The final paragraph confronts the memories and experiences related to the past relationship. Belinda toasts to the memories, implying that she acknowledges them but also seeks to move on. She sarcastically questions the significance of the person tattooing her eyes on their body only to erase them later with someone else. This suggests that their love and connection were not truly valued or lasting.
Overall, these lyrics depict a process of emotional release, self-reflection, and healing. Belinda explores the journey of healing through therapy, music, and personal choices, highlighting the importance of self-respect and moving forward from a toxic relationship.

Hoy quiero sacar to' esto que lleva cargando mi corazón
Today I want to release everything that my heart has been carrying
Because therapy helps, but music heals even more, dude
Y al final no hay bien sin mal
And in the end, there is no good without bad
Y el dolor se pasará
And the pain will pass
Ya volví, Beli
I'm back, Beli
Beli, bélica
Beli, strong-minded
My chest is not a storage, everything comes out
Lo que me hace mal se va pa' la mierda
What harms me goes to shit
No fuiste lo que esperé de ti
You were not what I expected from you
Carajo, cómo me hiciste sufrir
Damn it, how you made me suffer
Dicen que todo sana con tequila
They say everything heals with tequila
I drink and only pour salt on the wound
Por lo menos bailo esta canción
At least I dance to this song
And cheers to those who are the same as me
Bebo, salud por tu recuerdo
I drink, cheers to your memory
No veo el olvido lejos
I don't see forgetting far away
Me costó mil pedas no llamarte cruda
It was hard not to call you when I was drunk
Y hacerme la dura
And act tough
Bebo, y salud por to' los besos
I drink, cheers to all the kisses
¿De qué te sirvió tatuarte mis ojos
What good did it do you to tattoo my eyes
Pa' luego borrarlos con otros?
Just to later erase them with others?
No todo fue lo que me mostrabas
Not everything was as you showed me
Si supieran cómo tú me tratabas
If they knew how you treated me
Una piedra que no fue real
A stone that was not real
En un compromiso para aparentar
In a commitment to pretend
What's done is done, with or without resentment
You did not give our love the respect it deserved
Yo nunca dije nada de ti
I never said anything about you
Y con mucha clase yo me fui
And I left with a lot of class
