The crocheted throw and items are beautiful! Makes me excited to finish the 13 star crocheted flag afghan I promised. The flag itself is finished, meaning the stripes and the blue field for the stars. Now I just have to finish up the stars then I can send it. I'm wondering where you'll put it or desplay it. You have the space, build a huge pen on the side of the coup so they can go outside put are protected from predators. It’s not ideal but at least your fur babies will be safe.

The feather babies too.
We did that to our Young guineas chicks and most mostly had to fight off the snakes but we had a lot of coyotes and fox that were out of luck. Many nights we grabbed the gun and ran to The Coop to find a big old snake descending on the roosting pole.

I know your against it but you might need to set up snap traps or cable traps. Cage traps just arnt as effective. They do make leg traps that wont kill just to release you would need a pole coller thing and a cage to get it in to release it miles away.

To catch the coyote, you have to mask the scent of the cage. When we trapped fox and coyote, we used to boil the traps in pine and evergreen limbs. Then you can not touch the cage without gloves.

Make a chipmunk obstacle course, like they do for squirrels. Also get a guard dog like farmers do. 😊

Get a Maremma dog as they bond with stock and protect them from all that may want to harm them. Donkeys are also good as well as Llamas. Check these out as they may help solve some issues. The Maremmas have worked well in Aust. With protecting the Little Penguins here in Victoria, Australia as well as taking care of sheep etc. Will try to find a link for you.

We have two Rottweilers and we raised the chicken with the dogs. They never tried to hurt them. They did protect them.

You have to dig down about a foot to 2 ft all the way around and put fencing in the ground. That way it's a wolf coyote whatever trying to get into him and if you have a building secure enough then they won't get into them at night

The coyote is the only thing I can think of. I hope you catch him soon so I can concentrate on other things and your chickens can go out once again. If the coyote is a she, she may have a family waiting in the woods.

Hi first time commenting. Been watching for a long time. Dog and Chickens, When we had chickens, too protect from foxes (we don't have the same pests you have). We got a couple of pups put them during the day with the chickens so they grow up with them. Dogs will except them as theirs and so will the chickens we had no problems with the dogs eating them. Good luck, keep up the videos.

you get the great py. as a puppy and you play with the dog while you play with the chickens, you reward puppy when it does good. train it like you would a child and thatbreed is used by farmers and ranchs from all over

🇦🇺If the livestock guard dog comes from a farm with chickens. They should put the pups in with mum while she guards the chickens, that way they learn to protect them.

Or get someone to come and trap the predator, but there may be more out there.

Jeremy how about you come off the hen house with 1/2 or 3/4" pipe attach it to hen house so far out from the hen house then with a tee bring pipe down for legs then cove it with Chicken wire? Just a thought

You need to find a Great Pyrenees that was born and raised on a farm and have been around chickens since they were born.
I have had a Great Pyrenees for yrs and she is my Nigerian Goat protector because we too have Coyote problems. Since we have gotten our baby girl “Babe”… we no longer worry about them! She and like all Great Pyrenees work 3rd Shift. So she watches all night long and sleeps most of the day but where she can see her goats. The natural breed of the GP is protectors anyway. And they are the most loving dog to human! Search and you will find the right one or even two that aren’t fully grown but the main thing is they are “working puppies/dogs”…
Your chickens will be fine with them!!

Get a motion sensor - and when it senses movement,, have it rigged to the sound of multiple dogs barking. The coyote won't know where it is coming from and will run away. Maybe! 😉

Get a guard dog, clip wings of chickens, build your structure until coyote goes away before letting the chickens out. Pain If you have no top on structure hawks, and owls will fly in and grab them. If you don’t clip wings the chickens will fly out. Coyotes will dig under fences. Make sure you get large dog that will take care of the. Coyotes.

Make a chicken coop, and use rabbit fencing, i had one, my brother built it, i was living in California in 1997. this is how to make it is. depend how big you want it ok, you need , 4- x 4 beam boards in x 8 feet along with the cement and mortar you need to mix cement and mortar together ok. make sure you put the 4x4 beams in with the cement and mortar. on both sides od the cement and beams, you put te rabbit fencing. that is it.

The 4 legged chicken eater would have to be destroyed The only problem with that is another one would take its place. All you can do is build a total enclosure that is sunk in the ground so nothing can dig under the fence cover the top And yes they will eat dogs Peacocks also need an enclosure

Hello George and Jeremy , So sorry to hear about your chicken's that's so very sad news and those coyotes this time of the season , they are looking for food , even all types of animal's , like a coyote can get any type of dog , cause they go for there stomach's , because the reason I know is that my friends two dogs gotten eaten , then she has to shoot the dogs , which was really sad, so I know where to were you are coming from and it's so hard loosing pets ... I would build a chicken coop just big enough for them to get around outside on the grass and eat some bugs to, but with chicken wire going around with 2x4's and a big roof so they can't jump out , plus just giving you so idea's here Jeremy and George .... Also take it easy and love watching your show's , you both make me happy by watching them and I'm from Canada Ontario near Hamilton ... 🥰

Donkeys will hear a coyote coming and will chase them away I have even seen videos of donkeys biting coyotes and trowing them in the air.
