On his first released album Famous Among the Barns and his EP #1, Taylor collaborated with friends Adam MacDougall and Larry Ciancia to form The Ben Taylor Band. However, ultimately deciding that this path (which yielded music that Taylor describes as "neo-psychadelic folk funk") was not his true musical nature, Taylor released a follow-up album by himself that is much more acoustic in nature and more in line with his family roots. That solo effort, Another Run Around the Sun, features background vocals by his sister and mother, and still features drummer-friend Larry Ciancia, and well as Kevin Bacon on bass guitar, and producer.
During 2008 Ben released his third studio album, the wittily titled 'The Legend of Kung Folk: Part One (The Killing Bite). This time however, Ben reverted his name to 'Benjamin', so look for Benjamin Taylor this in the record store :-) An extensive world tour of intimate venue's followed, with Larry again on percussion, and his old friend (and self declared heterosexual soul mate) and writing partner David Saw on accompanying guitar and vocal duties. Throughout 2010, Ben & David have continued to write, record and release tracks on Ben's website.

Think A Man Would Know
Ben Taylor Lyrics

There is a sail out in the sun
And I'm on board though very small
I've come home to stop yearning
Burn off the haze around the shore
Turn off the crazy way I feel
I'll stay away from you no more
Try to make it work out
I'm trying to sand the edges of my soul to fit your soul
I want to make it work out
Cause i can't stand it anymore
You'd think a man would know
You'd think a man would know
I've been, turning through the pages
Looking back on everything I wish i could undo
But my friends all turned to strangers
SO all I really have is you
I'm gonna do sme changing
Try to lead the life I know my life deserves to live
I'm gonna rearrange it
And you'll believe me in the end
You'd think a man would know
You'd think a man would know
Mistakes we all know how it goes
But lessons don't make for apologies
We all need some place from which to grow
But don't you think a man should probobly know
Yeah, you'd think a man would know
You make it easy
All in all I fall and fall in love with you again
If you ever leave me, back down from heaven i'll descend
The lyrics to Ben Taylor's song Think A Man Would Know paint a vivid picture of a man who is coming to terms with his own shortcomings and longing for a romantic relationship that has somehow come undone. The song begins with the singer describing himself as very small, aboard a sailboat headed out to the west of Lambert's Cove, and he is determined to burn off the haze around the shore and turn off the crazy way he feels. He has come home to stop yearning and is trying to make things work out with the object of his desire, despite the difficulty of trying to sand the edges of his soul to fit hers.
Despite his noble intentions, the singer knows that he has made mistakes in the past that he cannot undo, and he is struggling to reconcile with the idea that his friends have become strangers. His future is uncertain, but he is willing to do some changing and rearranging to lead the life he believes he deserves. He expresses his belief that a man should know better than to repeat the same mistakes, and he hopes that he will rise to the occasion and hold onto the love that he has found.
The song crescendos with the singer proclaiming that his love interest makes it easy for him to fall in love with her over and over again, and that he will descend back down from heaven if she ever leaves him. Overall, the lyrics to Think A Man Would Know are a reflection of a man who has made mistakes in the past and is trying to make amends with the only thing that matters to him anymore: love.
