He usually works in studio with cousin Alle Benassi. The two also produce tracks together under the name Benassi Bros. The duo started DJing in the late 80s in their hometown, before moving to Larry Pignagnoli's Off Limits production studio in the mid 90s, creating music for various acts, including Whigfield, J.K. and Ally & Jo.
His first big international hit was I Feel So Fine, released as KMC with vocals by Dhany in 2001. After moving from eurohouse to electro, he had another successful hit single "Satisfaction" in 2003 and 2004. This reached Number 2 on the OCC UK Top 75 chart after the Ministry of Sound record company replaced the original video (an almost still picture of the band overlayed with graphics) with a video of models using power tools. Some of his singles have charted high in the United Kingdom and have been played world-wide in clubs. Benassi also remixes the music of his contemporaries, such as DJ Tomcraft and Fischerspooner.
Recently, Benny created a record label known as Pump-Kin Music. The focus of the label is primarily new and unsigned producers. Through this venture, he hopes to give exposure to some of the lesser known DJ/production talent across the world.

Can you feel me?
The information
That you're seeking
A sensation that is sneaking
Has you reaching
For the ceiling
The igniting
This reciting is inviting
All systems go out on the floor
This is what you came here for
Hi friend!
Hi friend!
Hi friend!
Hi friend!
Now your mind is open
Your thoughts are flying
To the bounce that's amplifying
Taking form
As you're complying
Grab the notion
Carry on replying
Adopt tension
Embrace mention
True ascension
Feeds retention
All systems go out on the floor
This is what you came here for
Hi friend!
Hi friend!

The lyrics to Benny Benassi's song, "Hi Friend," are a call to the listener to open their mind to the sensations and experiences that come from being on the dance floor. The repetition of the phrases "Are you receiving? Can you feel me?" and "All systems go out on the floor" emphasize the physical and emotional connection between the music and the listener. The repetitive nature of the lyrics, combined with the powerful beat and catchy melody, create a heady and almost hypnotic experience that encourages listeners to lose themselves in the music.
The song's emphasis on physical sensation and emotional connection reflects the nature of dance music as a whole. The lyrics speak to the power of dance music to bring people together and create a sense of shared experience. As the song progresses, the listener is encouraged to embrace the tension and ascend to a higher level of consciousness, one that is fed by the music and retained even after the music has stopped. Overall, "Hi Friend" is a call to action, an invitation to let go and embrace the full experience of dance music.
