Joy
Beth Hart / Joe Bonamassa Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I don't want you no more 'cause you took my joy
Want you no more 'cause you took my joy
You took my joy and I want it back
You took my joy and I want it back

You got no right to take my joy I want it back
No right to take my joy I want it back
You took my joy and I want it back
You took my joy and I want it back

I said I started in LA and I was looking for joy
Started in LA, I was looking for joy
Maybe in the angel city I'll find joy
Maybe in the angel city I'll find joy

Joy
Joy
Joy
Joy

I got down on my knees and I was looking for my joy
Got down on my knees and I was looking for my joy
Maybe the Lord will give me some joy
Maybe the Lord will give me some joy

Joy, Lord
Joy, gimme some joy
Joy, I said oh Lord
Joy, please, please, please, please

Wading in the water, trying to feel joy
Wading in the water, trying to feel joy
Maybe in the river I'll find my joy
Maybe in the river I'll find my joy

Joy, joy, joy
Joy
Joy, I said joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy
Joy

You took my joy
You took my joy
Let me swing at him, it'll give me some joy (you took my joy)
Gimme some joy
You took my joy
Gimme back my joy

Oh my joy
Joy
Joy

Gimme some joy
Oh, joy

I didn't believe that a singer would ever bring such passion and power as Janis to the stage again, but after seeing Beth in Freiburg last week I have to confess, that I’m totally flashed. Voice, personality, I haven’t seen much artists in my long life, that impressed me more than wonderful Beth Hart. Also big, big compliments to the outstanding musicians playing with her. With love from Tübingen, Germany ♥️

Boy am I glad i stumbled on this great singer. There is no female singer who can sing like she does. It wold be a treat, a blessing and a reward watching her live. Her collaboration with Joe Bonnamassa is ot of this world. I seriously wonder if we an ever find another female singer of such raw power. . Oh God what a voice. A sheer beauty
