In September ’06, the band was chosen as one of the top 10 unsigned bands in CA out of 2,500 by the world famous KROQ in Los Angeles. They have since had ongoing airplay and are requested on a regular basis. In the spring of ’07, the band was invited back to Japan to play one of the biggest events of the year, PUNKSPRING ’07. They shared the stage with such bands as NOFX, New Found Glory, Jimmy Eat World, Allister, Ellegarden, and many more big name acts.
Just months later, the follow-up to their debut album was released in Japan on August 25th. The album, “Start From Skratch,” quickly generated a buzz throughout Japan, as well as in the U.S. and Europe. A co-headlining tour with The Mad Caddies was put together in support of the record covering such areas of Japan as Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. As with their first album, it was recorded and produced entirely by the band, and later taken to Scottsdale, AZ where it was mixed by Ryan Greene at Crush Recording.
Record sales for both albums has surpassed a combined 40,000 copies sold worldwide. Their music and hype has since leaked from Japan over to other parts of the world, including Europe and the U.S. The band is now signed to World Records out of Los Angeles, CA, and with this, they plan on introducing their music to a whole new audience, showing the world what the hype is all about.

Carry On
Better Luck Next Time Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
She’s never been alone and
rarely stayed at home
She’s always out with him; the nights would never end
All alone at school looking like a fool, where’s her boyfriend at; she’s
nothing without that
What are they gonna’ say?
Well no one here will ever lie to you…
It’s time you carry on from
all those games you play and all those things you’ve ever said that brings me
back to why I don’t wanna’ go home
Back to all this anguish, back to those simple days in May
All which led to reasons why I don’t wanna’ go home
She had to get away and just the other day I saw her at a show,
I never thought she’d go
She looked so innocent; I knew what this had meant
She grabbed my hand and out the door we ran,
took me to her car and wanted to go far
She really was fucked up…
We lay here in this mess of a battlefield of reaching
for endings and misunderstandings for what we used to call
a road that we’d walk on back to home
A thought for every shattered memory we’d mend with a
blank stare in hopes that we’d get there
and now regrets have fallen into eyes far away
And you wonder what it’s like to be cool
Well no one here will ever lie to you…
‘Cause it’s time you carry on from all those games you play
and all those things you’ve ever said that brings me back to why
I don’t wanna’ go home
Back to all this anguish, back to those simple days in May
All which led to reasons why I don’t wanna’ go home
The song "Carry On" by Better Luck Next Time is a heartbreaking story of a girl who never learned how to be alone. It is 2 AM, and she is lying in her bed, unable to sleep because of racing thoughts. This girl is used to always being with her boyfriend, and she rarely stays at home. But now, she finds herself alone, wondering where he is. She feels like a fool at school without him, and she's afraid of what people will say about her without a boyfriend.
The chorus of the song encourages her to "carry on" from all the games she played and the things she said that led to her current state. The lyrics remind her that these actions are what led to her current pain, and that it's time to move beyond them. The singer also mentions "simple days in May," which could be referring to a time when everything was simpler and the relationship was new and exciting.
Later in the song, the singer meets up with the girl who is now at a show. She looks innocent, but he knows that's not the case. She takes him by the hand and leads him to her car, and they drive off together. The girl is clearly distraught and "fucked up," and it's clear that her relationships have led her down a destructive path.
Overall, "Carry On" is a sad song about the consequences of unhealthy relationships and the importance of learning how to be alone.
