Overall Meaning

The repeating lyrics in Bicep's song "JUST" serve to emphasize the theme of identity and sameness. The repetition creates a mantra-like quality, suggesting that the singer is trying to reassure themselves or convince themselves of their own consistency. The phrase "I'm just the same" is repeated numerous times, indicating a lack of change, perhaps in the face of external pressures or expectations.

The repetition also hints at a sense of self-doubt or uncertainty. By repeating the assertion of being "just the same," it's as if the singer is trying to convince themselves of their own stability and continuity. This repetition could be a way of reaffirming one's own sense of self in a world that is constantly changing and evolving. It could also convey a desire for validation from others, seeking affirmation that they haven't changed.

Additionally, the repetition may suggest a form of self-reflection or introspection. By continuously repeating "I'm just the same," the singer may be engaging in a process of self-examination, questioning their own identity and searching for consistency within themselves. It could represent a struggle to understand or come to terms with their own sense of self, echoing the universal human experience of grappling with one's own identity.

Overall, the repetition of "I'm just the same" in Bicep's song emphasizes a search for stability and reaffirmation of one's own identity. It showcases the complexities of self-perception and the human need for validation and self-assurance in a world that is constantly changing.
