Fear Not
Bill & Gloria Gaither Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Kings and shepherds make their way
Straight to where the Baby lay:

Rich and poor and lonely
Bow before this sight.

A star has led them to this place
The Word that′s been echoing through space

Becomes a Child tonight.

Light to shine in the darkest night,
Light to make all the wrong things right.

Light to show everyone the way,
Light to shine where the virgin lay.

Star of David, the prophet's star.
Yahweh, God come to where we are.

Star to mark the Messiah′s birth,
Star of Heaven now touches earth tonight.

Angel voices fill the air,
Angel wings are everywhere. Light so bright it's blinding.

Shepherds shake with fright.

A warmth begins to flood the hill.
"Fear not!" Peace to you, goodwill, comes to earth tonight.

Light to shine in the darkest night,
Light to make all the wrong things right.

Light to show everyone the way.
Light to shine where the virgin lay.

Star of David, the prophet's star,
Yahweh, God come to where we are.

Star to mark the Messiah′s birth,
Star of Heaven now touches earth tonight.

The light will be so bright,
It will shine through the darkest night.

Send down Your holy light!

Light to shine in the darkest night,
Light to make all the wrong things right.

Star of David, the prophet′s star,
Light to show everyone the way.

Light to shine where the virgin lay.
Yahweh, God come to where we are.

Star to mark the Messiah's birth,
Star of Heaven now touches earth tonight.

Light to shine where the virgin lay.
Star of David, the prophet′s star,

Light to shine in the darkest night,
Light to make all the wrong things right.

Light to show everyone the way.
Yahweh, God come to where we are.

Star to mark the Messiah's birth,
Star of Heaven now touches earth tonight,

Tonight, tonight, tonight, Tonight,
Tonight, tonight, Star of Heaven now touches earth tonight!

Folks this is Christian music. And these men are all much more capable of singing then most of us on this thread. Quit complaining. And to the man complaining about the drums read Psalms 150:5. We all have our favorites but most of them chose when to leave the vocal band. What was Bill supposed to do pack it up and call it a day. Quit comparing and enjoy the group as it is. Focus on the fact they are trying to glorify God with the gifts He has given them. Get caught up in the worship and quit 3:58 whining about it. Wes talked in an interview he did with Andy Andrews about the nastiness he received when he replaced David Phelps. People still waste time comparing the two. Both men are incredibly talented but people have to make it a contest. Wes has been with Bill 18 years now. He deserves respect for his steady presence in this group. Sorry if this post seems overly critical but I get caught up in a performance and then I read all the criticism and it brings me crashing down. Remember this is Christian music.
