Bill Evans Trio Lyrics

The trembling trees embraced the breeze tenderly
Then you and I came wandering by
And lost in a sigh were we
The shore was kissed by sea and mist tenderly
I can't forget how two hearts met breathlessly
Your arms opened wide and closed me inside
You took my lips, you took my love so tenderly
The lyrics of Bill Evans/Tony Scott's song Tenderly highlight a romantic moment between two individuals who were the perfect match for each other. The evening breeze sets the mood as it caressed the trees tenderly, and as the trembling trees swayed, the breeze embraced them tenderly. It was at this moment the two individuals who had lost in their thoughts came wandering by, and they were lost in a sigh. The atmosphere was serene, and they were in a trance. The shore was kissed by sea and mist tenderly, reminding them of how beautiful the world can be. They experienced love at first sight, and they could not forget how two hearts met breathlessly. The moment was magical, and the lyrics captured its essence perfectly. As their hearts opened and closed together, the lyrics delicately express how their love was so tender.

Bill's solo here is one of my all-time recorded favourites. Sumptuously crafted; musical perfection. So much subtletly. Never plays a single note less (or more) than what he means to. What a musician.

For whatever reason, this song immediately brings to mind the arrival of autumn. Brilliant interpretation, as you could always expect with Bill Evans.
