Some Gave All
Billy Ray Cyrus Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I knew a man, called him Sandy Cane
Few folks even knew his name
But a hero, yes was he
Left a boy, came back a man
Still many just don't understand
About the reasons we are free
I can't forget the look in his eyes
Or the tears he cried
As he said these words to me

[Chorus]
All Gave Some, Some Gave All
Some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall
Some Gave All

Now Sandy Cane is no longer here
But his words are oh so clear
As they echo throughout our land
For all his friends who gave us all
Who stood their ground and took the fall
To help their fellow man
Love your country and live with pride
And don't forget those who died
America can't you see?

[Chorus]

And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall
Yes recall

Maybe don't support a corrupt dictator that attempted to consume another country and develop a monopoly on the oil market (Saddam [Iraq] )
Maybe don't accept aid from the Soviets, fight for liberation, then harbor Al Qaeda (Afghanistan)
Maybe don't sanction terrorist cells governmentally (Yemen)
Maybe don't harbor a known terrorist that killed thousands single handedly (Osama, Pakistan [911])
Maybe don't order rocket attacks on civilians (Palestine)
Maybe don't openly support the spread of communism (Vietnam)
Maybe don't commit genocide (Germany)
Maybe don't form a communistic coup (Korea)

If you were a leader or elected official of one of these countries, don't you think you would ask yourself:

"Maybe fucking don't?"

If you live in my country you make me fucking sick. Maybe don't stay.
