Good Riddance
Black Market Radio Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

At the end of the rope, say good bye and
good riddance...
For the Vampires I know, that try to drink
me cold...

Like a bug to the flame, buzz around
try to steal every minute...
Got my balls goin' home,
this game is gettin' old...

I'm over the edge, my feet off the ground...
I'm over the edge, better learn how to fly
all the way down...

Feel the hands in my pants,
to me they're not connected...
Everybody wants to dance,
who's gonna pay the band?

Like a thief in the night, with the right,
is the one they're always shakin'...
While the knife in your back,
is their other hand...

Don't you know that I act as a friend, but I
see in your eyes that it's come to an end...

Don't you float like a face in a crowd while
the voice in my head is increasingly LOUD!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Black Market Radio's song "Good Riddance" appear to be about someone who is fed up with certain people in their life who are draining their energy and taking advantage of them. The first two lines, "At the end of the rope, say good bye and good riddance... For the Vampires I know, that try to drink me cold..." suggest that the person has finally reached their breaking point and is ready to cut ties with the people who are always taking from them.

The next few lines, "Like a bug to the flame, buzz around try to steal every minute... Got my balls goin' home, this game is gettin' old..." paint a picture of people who are always buzzing around the singer, trying to take everything they can from them without giving anything in return. The singer is tired of this game and is ready to leave.

The following lines, "I'm over the edge, my feet off the ground... I'm over the edge, better learn how to fly all the way down..." suggest that the singer is ready to take a leap of faith and leave these draining people behind, no matter how scary it may be. The rest of the lyrics continue to paint a picture of people who are taking advantage of the singer and the singer's realization that it's time to move on.

Overall, the lyrics to "Good Riddance" are powerful and speak to anyone who has ever had to cut ties with people who were draining their energy and taking advantage of them.

TheNightmare75II

It's funny that his name is Peter because their real last name is Boyle. So he's basically the father from Everybody Loves Raymond.

Jonathan Vance

Yes I know BTAK is a remastered version of Suicide Parlour.

Jonathan Vance

The intro is longer than the BTAK version.
