Regrets

He feels like he is working too hard and wants to give up on life.

He travels through New York City via the subway system.

He realizes that everyone has something to do, just like him.

He thinks to himself as he looks to check the time
He reflects on his current situation and checks the time to see how much longer he has to work.

Autumn mornings have thoughts all their own
He thinks about the unique thoughts and feelings that come with the season of fall.

This cannot be what life is for
He realizes that working all the time cannot be the only purpose of life.

He feels like he is struggling to survive and make a living.

On the way home he stops
He takes a break from his routine and stops at a video store.

At the local video store

He rented a classic movie to entertain himself at home.

On the night before
He rented the movie the night before his day off work.

He's got a burrito in his bag
He brings food with him so he can enjoy a meal at home.

He's staying in tonight
He is choosing to stay at home instead of going out.

Because what's the use in going out
He doesn't see the point in going out on a boring night like a Tuesday.

Happiness should not be a dream
He believes that happiness should be achievable and not just a fantasy.

Or only a scheme
He doesn't think that happiness should be based on a devious plan or illusion.

Whose foundation is based on lies
He doesn't believe that true happiness should be built on dishonesty.

Next day got to do it again there is no end
He knows that he has to go to work again the next day, with no end in sight.

Until the day he dies
He assumes that he will have to work until he dies, and there will never be a break from it.

Find something that you will enjoy
He encourages himself to find something he enjoys doing to make life more fulfilling.

And do it now boy
He motivates himself to start doing what he enjoys immediately.

Because this is our only life
He believes that life is finite and should be lived to the fullest.
