Letting Go
Blind Divine Lyrics

you may think you're the kind who's always right
I kept it all inside I couldn't bear to breathe
I couldn't bear to see how you were letting go
I may seem weak but I will see you through
you may think pain is just a part of you
I kept it all inside I couldn't bear to breathe
Blind Divine's song "Letting Go" is a powerful expression of emotional distress and the struggles that one goes through in trying to support someone who is suffering. The first verse of the song expresses a sense of defiance and determination, as the singer declares that they may seem small, but they know how to fight. This refers to a willingness to stand up for themselves and their beliefs, even in the face of opposition. The line "you may think you're the kind who's always right" suggests that there is someone in their life who is dismissive or even hostile towards them, perhaps someone who refuses to see their perspective or acknowledge their feelings.
The second verse continues this theme of perseverance, as the singer asserts that they may seem weak, but they will see the other person through their pain. This line highlights the strength of empathy and compassion, which allow someone to support another person through their struggles even when it is difficult or painful. The repetition of the line "I kept it all inside I couldn't bear to breathe" underscores the weight of the emotional burden that the singer is carrying, which includes both their own struggles and those of the person they are trying to help. The final line, "I couldn't bear to see how you were letting go," suggests that the other person is going through a difficult time and the singer is struggling to witness their pain and suffering.
Overall, "Letting Go" is a powerful and emotional song that explores themes of perseverance, compassion, and the challenges of supporting those who are struggling. Through its raw and vulnerable lyrics, the song expresses the difficulty of carrying the emotional weight of others while also trying to maintain one's own strength and resolve.
