Louie Louie
Oh no, so here I go
Louie, Louie
Oh baby, here I go
And my little boy is waiting for me
That's the boy, across the way
When he's waiting, he's all alone
When I see him I'm gonna take him home
Louie Louie
Oh no, so here I go
Louie, Louie
Oh baby, here I go now
And my little boy is waiting for me
That's the boy, across the way
When he's waiting, he's all alone
When I see him I'm gonna take him home
Louie Louie
Oh no, so here I go

Louie, Louie
Oh baby, here I go
Oh here I go
Uh-ah
Uh-ah
Well you know Louie Louie is a very traditional song
Ahhhย….
Louie Louie, f**k
Louie Louie one more time
Yeah, Louie Louie again
Louie Louie
Oh no, so here I go
Louie, Louie
Oh baby, here I go
Oh here I go

Here I go
(repeat)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Blondie feat. Robert Fripp's song Louie Louie seem to be a continuation of the original song, which was written by Richard Berry in 1955. The singer is singing about a boy across the way who is waiting for her. She promises to take him home when she sees him. The song seems to be about a simple, innocent love story between two young individuals. However, the lyrics also hint at the loneliness and longing for companionship that can be felt by young people.

The repetition of the chorus "Louie Louie" throughout the song adds a hypnotic and catchy rhythm to the lyrics. The lyrics also suggest that the song is not just about a love story, but also about the shared experience of music. The lines "Well you know Louie Louie is a very traditional song" and "Louie Louie, f**k" suggest that the song has a history and a significance beyond its lyrics.

In 2024 when the world is going increasingly insane songs like this are a refuge of joy and sanity.

Ahhhh, another stinky and cold morning in New Jersey. My dad was in a union and was a welder in Union, NJ. He was one tough bastard, a war battle survivor. He would buy me any record I wanted and never questioned the content. Looking back, I believe he was watching me enjoy my complete 1970s freedom for which he believed he fought. Thanks, Dad.โค

That whole area has been renovated with new apartments, restaurants and luxury docks. It's actually pretty nice now. Things change. This video is almost 50 years old.

She came across like she had a healthy personality and wasn't the least bit ashamed of it.

Her counterparts of today would never live down the disgrace of such a thing.
