Exodus is a Song from the Exodus 1977 album by Jamaican reggae band Bob Marley and the Wailers, first released in June 1977 through Island Records, following Rastaman Vibration (1976). The album's production has been characterized as laid-back with pulsating bass beats and an emphasis on piano, trumpet and guitar. Unlike previous albums from the band, Exodus thematically moves away from cryptic story-telling; instead it revolves around themes of change, religious politics, and sexuality. The album is split into two halves: the first half revolves around religious politics, while the second half is focused on themes of making love and keeping faith.
On 3 December 1976, an assassination attempt was made on Bob Marley's life in which his chest was grazed and his arm was struck with a bullet, but he survived. Following the assassination attempt, Marley left Jamaica and was exiled to London, where Exodus was recorded.
The album was a success both critically and commercially; it received gold certifications in the US, UK and Canada, and was the album that propelled Marley to international stardom. In 2017, Exodus was remastered and re-released for its 40th anniversary. Exodus has more tracks on Marleyโs greatest hits compilation Legend than any of his other records. Exodus was his tenth album since the debut album The Wailing Wailers in 1965, including the live album Live! (1975).

(Movement of Jah people)
Men and people will fight ya down
When ya see Jah light
Let me tell you if you're not wrong
Well, everything is all right
So we gonna walk
We the generation
Tread through great tribulation
In this exodus
Good god almighty
Movement of Jah people
Exodus
The movement of Jah people
Oh, well, well, well
Open your heart, uh!
And look within
Are you satisfied
With the life you're living?
We know where we're going
We know where we're from
We're leaving Babylon
We're going to the Father's land
In this exodus
Movement of Jah people
Exodus
The movement of Jah people

The lyrics of "Exodus" by Bob Marley & The Wailers talks about the struggles that the Jah people face in their journey towards enlightenment and the ultimate goal of returning to the Father's land. The song highlights the fights that they may encounter from those who want to hinder their movement, but they believe that nothing is wrong as long as they follow the Jah light. The lyrics also emphasize the need to listen to one's heart and be satisfied with the life they are living.
The chorus of the song talks about the exodus of the Jah people, where they move towards the Father's land with the hope of breaking down pressure and achieving equality. The captives will be set free, and their transgressions will be wiped away. The lyrics also encourage the Jah people to walk through creation and not be daunted by the great tribulations they may encounter.

I saw him in concert in 1978 in Ann Arbor MI. Amazing concert...he was throwing splifs into the audience. His message is purely humanitarian. He's a wonderful human being.
