The lyrics of Born Cages’ “Green” is a contemplation of the beauty of life and how it is often overlooked due to the struggles we face. The opening verses show the singer’s friend confiding in him and expressing her troubles. She questions how one can get by without any joy or laughter in their life, and he responds by sharing his smile and what he knows. The chorus then comes in and talks about how, in a monochromatic world, the greenery and the rain represent the changes, the positivity of life. The second verse further discusses how life, despite the everyday struggles, still has beauty to offer.
