Bang
Braid Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Well isn't pulled up, I'm farther on the times hardly
I'mma roshie, to long, too gone long gone
Bang it's spark on the church I take it to hore
I cannot help, I cannot change
I'mma run away try
To my love lost, to the love lost
And I me don't wanna be that one
Let go, listen to me and my drum
Let go time for the outcome
Stand slow, come for me outcome
...give me some outcome
Let know listen for the outcome
Let go time for the outcome
Set slow run for the outcome
Tend to dawn give me some outcome
Too long, love run, bang, bang, bang
The lyrics to Braid's song Bang seem to have a sense of urgency and desperation as the songwriter explores their inner thoughts and emotions. The first line, "Bang com in my time," could refer to a sudden realization or impact that hits the singer at a particular moment in their life. The next line, "Well isn't pulled up, I'm farther on the times hardly," could imply that the songwriter feels disconnected from the rest of the world, and their perspective is different from everyone else's.
The chorus contains the repeated phrase "Bang, bang, bang," which could symbolize the banging of a drum or a heartbeat. The singer seems to be searching for something or someone, as they mention a lost love ("To my love lost, to the love lost") and express a desire to move on ("Let go time for the outcome"). They are aware that time is precious, and they don't want to waste it. However, they also acknowledge that change is not easy, as seen in the line "I cannot help, I cannot change."
Overall, the lyrics to Bang are open to interpretation and could resonate with anyone who has experienced feelings of being lost or disconnected. The song seems to be about taking control of one's life and not wasting time, even if it's challenging to do so.

Finally picked this album up and I think it's a perfect case study for how a beloved band should reunite after a very long hiatus. Too many "return" albums are underwhelming or confusing because they have either lost their chops and aren't up to snuff with what they used to do, or they've evolved past their younger selves so much that what they are now is unrecognizable vs. who they were before. To successfully "reunite" and release new material, they have to be careful to pick up where they left off before--be what they were but better and more mature. I think Braid did that with this album.
