Give Me Your Eyes was one of the most successful Christian songs of 2008 and its success continued into 2009. The tune won the Song of the Year and Best Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song at the 2009 Dove Awards. It spent 14 weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot Christian AC radio chart, and 27 weeks at the summit of the iTunes Christian Song Chart. Speaking with Songfacts about the song in a 2011 interview Heath said he never foresaw the song's success: "I remember the day that we wrote it, and I had a good feeling about it," he said, "Sometimes when you write, you think, yeah, I can see this working at radio, or I can see this really sticking in people's heads. But the fact that there were sermons written after it, people went on missions trips. And as far as I know, I think it's the first song in the history of my record label to go gold, as far as a single. That's way, way beyond my expectations for that song. But it's been great."
After the release of his most commercially successful song, Heath went on to produce three additional full length studio albums through Provident Label Group. Leaving Eden, released in 2011, hosted "Your Love", and the album and single received three Grammy awards. In October of 2012, Blue Mountain was released and most recently No Turning Back was circulated in 2015.
REACHING OUT

And you turned to me and you said you'd like to share
Just a little of your pain
Well my brother I thought you'd never say
I've been waiting forever for this day
What if you were to call me up and ask
For a minute of my time'
Like it was some kind of crime
Well my sister I hoped that you might come
And I promise that you are not the only one
Look me in the eye and tell me honestly
What ever lies behind your broken heart
Is too complex for me
Come and talk to me if for only for a while
I am reaching for you
What if you were to tell me you were through
With the way that you live
'Cause you take so much from an empty world outside
You've got nothing left to give
Well my brother I've felt the same way too
But someone changed me and He's got his eye on you
What if you remembered who you were
Before people broke you down
And you realized you were someones little girl
And he loves when you're around
We'll my sister, your dad has seen you hurt
And He's waiting for you with open arms
Nothing hurts Him more than seeing you in pain
Just to see you come so close to Him
And turn and walk away
Hide yourself in Him, He will make you brand new
He is reaching out for you
Your God is reaching out for you
He's reaching out for you
In the song Reaching Out, Brandon Heath explores the theme of human connection and the value of seeking help in times of trouble. The chorus of the song invites the listener to come forward and share their struggles. The first verse sets the scene for a conversation between two people in the rain, where one person expresses their desire to share their pain with the other. The second verse presents the scenario of someone feeling different from everyone else and calling on a friend for comfort. Through these scenarios, Heath expresses his hope that people will feel comfortable reaching out for help and that they will find the support and love they need.
In the bridge, Heath shifts focus to the divine and speaks of the love of God. He invites the listener to recognize that they are not alone and that the hurt they feel is not beyond God's understanding. He encourages them to surrender their pain to God and find healing and renewal through Him. The final chorus repeats the invitation to come and talk, but this time, it is God who is reaching out to the listener.
The song is a powerful reminder that we are all in need of love and support, and that sometimes it takes a simple act of outreach to change our perspective and renew our spirits.

Just a small part of the pain you're carrying

Your God is reaching out for you
God, your Heavenly Father, is reaching out for you
He's reaching out for you
He's reaching out with open arms to mend and heal you
