The lyrics to Braulio's song Cenizas express feelings of heartbreak and betrayal. The singer has endured the pain of being forgotten by their lover, who has now returned to their life to reveal their own misfortune. The singer acknowledges that their heart was once hurt by this person who has returned and they are unable to forgive them or give them what they gave before. The love that once existed between them is dead and any attempt to revive it will only result in finding the remains of what was once their love - ashes.
The use of the imagery of ashes to represent the remains of their love is particularly poignant as it is a symbol of the finality and irrevocable nature of death. The repetition of the phrase "Has vuelto a verme" (you have come back to see me) adds to the sense of bitterness and frustration the singer feels over their situation. The lyrics suggest that the other person has returned out of a sense of desperation, hoping to find some solace or absolution for their past actions.
In conclusion, the lyrics to Cenizas convey a sense of heartbreak, betrayal and the complexity of human emotions. The song is a powerful reminder that love is not always easy and can be fragile, with the potential to leave us devastated when it ends.
