1/ According to Songfacts, Breathe hailed from Hampshire, England, where the original five members all grew up and even went to school together at Yateley School. Their first group was larger, six-person band called Catch-22, after the famed novel by Joseph Heller. Theyrimmed down to a quartet to record the album All That Jazz in 1987. This contained their two best-known hits, "How Can I Fall?" and "Hands to Heaven". The latter charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #2 in 1988, and at #4 in the UK. Bassist Micheal Delahunty left the group in 1989 and the remaining three followed "All that Jazz" with the lesser known "Peace of Mind" in early 1990.
Their sound was a combination of light jazz with some pop and soul, somewhat reminiscent of Air Supply or Rick Astley. However, the success was shortlived, and by 1990 they had disbanded.
4 - breathe -- Ridgeback Recordings Dallas, TX U.S.A.
breathe is Doug DuVall and Noel "NTRAIN" Keith. They are a forward thinking eletronic music production/DJ team who shares the common interest in producing, playing, and listening to quality music that must have a groove, soul, and depth. They won't pigeon hole themselves in one genre or style of music and have produced some of the following styles but not limited to: house, deep house, funky house, progressive house, breaks, hip-hop, abstract, experimental, and downtempo. Their ability to blend multiple styles of music into one track gives them a definite production edge on the listener. Give them a listen and let them know what you think---good or bad as their music is not for all listeners but production work is always solid. Peace ~ Soul ~ Spirit---breathe

Breathe Lyrics

I'm pulling out my hair
I sweat blood, day and night for you
You know this can't be fair
Tearing at my very soul
Wounding me with words
Shaking, as I lose control
You've even got me crawling on my hands and knees for you
I'm just your private clown, and there's no trick that I won't do
Ah, baby you've got me jumping like a monkey
I'm so crazy, I'll do any trick for you
Baby, you've got me jumping like a monkey
I'm so crazy, I'll do any trick for you
Doctor just can't cure me
Of this strange disease
All the symptoms that I show
Won't remedy with ease
Madness, chugging like a train
I'm fixed upon these rails
When the fuse goes in my brain
My sanity will fail
Ah, baby you've got me jumping like a monkey
I'm so crazy, I'll do any trick for you
Baby, you've got me jumping like a monkey
I'm so crazy, I'll do any trick for you
I'm just your whipping boy
Hangin' on each word you say
Love, so near insanity
This time push me all the way, all the way.
The lyrics to Any Trick by Breathe are a candid account of a lover who is almost driven insane by the pull of their emotions for the object of their affection. The tension is palpable as the singer tries to cope with the strong feelings they have for someone who they feel is taking advantage of them. The first verse describes the physical toll that this tension is taking on the singer, including hair pulling and sweating blood for the object of their affection. The second verse details the emotional toll, with the singer feeling wounded by words and losing control. The third verse emphasizes the extent of the singer's obsession, almost begging in a way as they describe crawling on their hands and knees and doing any trick to please the one they love.
The chorus of the song, with the repeated refrain of "baby you've got me jumping like a monkey, I'm so crazy, I'll do any trick for you" speaks to the singer's feelings of being out of control and emotionally manipulated by their beloved. They feel like a puppet on a string that is being pulled in whatever direction their love interests desires. The final verse ends on a powerful note, with the singer almost resigned to their fate as a "whipping boy" who is so in love that they will go to any lengths to please their love interest, even if it pushes them to the brink of insanity.
Overall, Any Trick by Breathe is a raw, emotional ballad about the power that love can have over us, and the lengths we will go to for the one we love, even when it's not reciprocated.
