Awit ng Paghahandog
Bukas Palad Lyrics

At tanggapin mo
The lyrics to Bukas Palad's song Awit ng Paghahandog speak of surrender and offering oneself to God. The first stanza begins with a plea to God to take and accept the individual's freedom and free will. The following lines state that everything that the individual possesses - their thoughts and memories - are offered to God as a sacrifice. The second stanza acknowledges that everything that one has comes from God and so it is offered back to Him. The individual requests guidance and asks for God's will to be done.
The song is a prayer that expresses devotion and humility. It speaks of wanting to surrender everything to God and placing faith in His plan for the individual's life. The lyrics highlight an understanding that all that one has comes from God, and so it is only fitting that it be offered back to Him. The melody is reflective and solemn, emphasizing the weight of the words being sung.

O Diyos ikaw ang laging hanap
Loob ko'y ikaw ang tanging hangad
Nauuhaw akong parang tigang na lupa
Sa tubig ng 'yong pag-aaruga
Ika'y pagmamasdan sa dakong banal
Nang makita ko ang 'yong pagkarangal
Dadalangin akong nakataas aking kamay
Magagalak na aawit ng papuring iaalay
Gunita ko'y ikaw
Habang nahihimlay
Pagkat ang tulong mo sa tuwina'y taglay
Sa lilim ng iyong mga pakpak
Umaawit akong buong galak
Aking kaluluwa'y kumakapit sa 'yo
Kaligtasa'y t'yak kong hawak mo ako
Umaawit umaawit umaawit akong buong galak

At times, finding the utmost efficiency lies in taking a moment to unwind and appreciate the enchanting melodies around us. I would like to express my gratitude to the Lord God, for all the blessings bestowed upon us, even though we may not be without flaws. Yet, your boundless love and acceptance remain, and for that, I am truly thankful. A heartfelt Amen!

One of my favorite Communion songs, as well as one my favorite Psalms in the Liturgy of the Hours. It speaks about our longing for God to quench the thirsts of life, and we may always praise him for all those graces and blessings (even those gifts that we did not ask him of it).
