Smaller one jus' a walk underneath
Smaller one jus' a walk underneath an' stick around
Them a run come, come

Four by four
Five by five
Square it up to six

Dem a run come, come
Dem a run come, come

Overall Meaning

The song Come Come by Burning Spear is a meditation on life and death, specifically on how each person's time on earth is limited and how they must make the most of it. The repeated line "each and everyone a comin' my day" emphasizes the universality of this message: no matter who you are or what you do, you will eventually face your own mortality. This theme is further underscored through images of people waiting, washing their faces, and eating - all mundane activities that serve as a reminder of the fleeting nature of life.

The second verse of the song emphasizes the idea that death is no respecter of persons: "big and small, young and old, weak and strong" all must face their own mortality. The line "you should see dem a come" is a somber reminder that death is a part of life, and that we must prepare ourselves for it. The final lines of the song, which count up from one to six, suggest that time is running out and that we must make the most of the time we have left.

Overall, Come Come is a powerful meditation on the transience of life and the need to make the most of every moment. It is a reminder of the finite nature of human existence and a call to live life to its fullest.

Song makes me cry tears. It reminds me of sista Dorice when we went to mourn and bury my sister in Suna Migori. This song was being played by almost all the music stores at the Migori bus stage. We arrived at around 6pm , lost and looking for someone to guide us to that fateful final resting place of Dorice Auma Osodo. I wonder if the great Burning Spear was telling me these words, mek we say what we have to say, or mek we do do what we have to do.RIP Nyar Chiga, till we meet again your Royal Highness Queen of Chiga
