The group released four teasers for their 1st album Bluetory, starring one member per each of the videos in the sequence of Jonghyun, Minhyuk, Jungshin and lastly, Jung Yong Hwa on the 6th, 8th, 11th and 13 January respectively. On the January 14, CN Blue debuted their first mini-album with lead single "I'm a Loner" (Korean: 외톨이야).
August 28, 2019 it was announced Lee Jonghyun was not part of the band anymore. They continued as a trio and released their 8th Mini Album, Re-Code on the November 17,2020.

The first stanza of the song Blue Sky by C.N.Blue talks about a past summer when the singer was inseparable with the person he sings about. It was a time of joy and endless days spent together with the belief that it would never end. However, something has changed since then. The oceans, which were once calm and serene, now roar and are no longer gentle, just like the feelings of love that the singer once shared. Despite this change, the person still professed their undying love, which seemed as unrelenting as the ocean's tide.
The second stanza continues on this theme of changing love. The skies, which were once blue, are now filled with darker and stormier clouds. The person who used to whisper their love now says nothing, and the once soft sea is now a roaring one. The singer questions the extent of the person's feelings of love, as it seems that they no longer care as much as they once did. The final stanza suggests that the singer is ready to move on from this person, but not before letting them know that they are no longer needed. The past love's memory is still present, as the singer talks about the person's past love for him/her and how it has all changed now.
