According to his website, Rosenfeld's dream is to work for a company that doesn't outsource music and sound. Rosenfeld cites his brother as a major, "unnoticed," influence in his musical career. Rosenfeld's brother initially introduced him to Ableton, his first music production software, which he used to create "mash-ups of two songs." Rosenfeld continued to produce music as a "productive hobby" gradually improving and got involved in the indie game community. Spending time in TIGSource's IRC channel, Rosenfeld started to learn of the "infinitely complicated art of game design", and through the same channel met Markus "Notch" Persson who was only just started the idea process of 'Minecraft.' my brother and I played minecraft when we were younger we always live in a hostile atmosphere with my father

My mom, my brother and I used to run away from the house when we could not stand it anymore.

one day we managed to "get rid of him" we had a nice life with my mother since she had the custody of us.

until one day...

a note arrived that the jury had given custody to him and we had to go with him in a lapse of 3 days.

finally the day to go with my dad arrived.

It was a hard goodbye.

It was a horrible experience to separate myself from my mother.

First heard this song when my son was playing mine craft and had to go and buy the download to pay respect to the artist. It makes me very emotional but in a nice way. I'm very happy in my life and not depressed but sometimes it almost moves me to tears. It makes me reflect on life. A very moving piece of music. Well done to the producer.

It’s sad. I grew up with this game since I was about eight, I still remember some of the worlds I had back then.

Now I’m 16 and I ask my younger brother if he wants to play two players on his xbox, as he too was also caught up in how infectious this game was years ago. He says “I’m too busy and I need to rank up on rainbow”

I remember playing with my two sisters on the Xbox 360. We'd spend a lot of time making things, whenever I wasn't off making my own creation as far away from theirs as possible. The older of the two is now at university, and I'm going to gift her Minecraft on Play Store so she can play it with me long-distance- her on her phone and me on my Switch or Rift S. She'll probably be very annoyed when she'll find a noise machine (that I would have spent 20 minutes building) planted squarely underneath her house that would take her an hour to build. Good times.

This song makes me so emotional!😭 from 2:13-3:45, this reminds me back in January, we got out of school for snow, (and in Tennessee you could get out for a mere inch) and me and my twin brother were walking through my neighborhood, in the cloudy, calm, winter day. Snow was falling on the ground, and I remember just loving this song, as it reminds me of the snow. The walk we had to this song is one of my favorite memories. I can't listen to any of the Minecraft soundtrack. I turn the songs on and these feelings rise up in my head that I can't put words to or define or do anything with, they just drift around, and I try so hard to grasp them but it's like trying to hold mist, and when it's over I feel almost... Empty? And I want to listen to it again, but at the same time it's so unnerving and unfamiliar and sad, but not sad enough to grasp it or respond or do something with it, just sad enough to be not happy.
Everyone else says that these are so calming, and yes, they are, but for me they're kind of the exact opposite, because I don't know what to think and it's almost scary, like I'm having a panic attack.
....Through writing this comment I think I figured out what my problem is. I'm desperate to think, and to put everything in words, and these songs force me to stop thinking and feel, and I'm not sure what to think about that. Because I'm not supposed to think about that. I'm supposed to feel.
Tbh this is kind of the same feeling that thoughts about the meaning of life and stuff like I used to think when I was depressed gave me: "I don't know what to think about this and I want to get the fuck out and back to a safe place".
Now I'm going to go listen to some jazz or some crap that at least I can make sense of.

Not trying to say the songs on the MC soundtrack are bad or triggering of course- Quite the opposite. These are incredible and emotional as fuck and I apparently am a soulless creature that doesn't know how to react to emotions.

Trust me, almost all of us relate to this wholeheartedly. You aren't a soulless creature. In fact, you're experiencing one of the most complex emotions imaginable. I used to think I was an empty husk devoid of feeling too, but you only think that because you are feeling emotion to such a degree that is difficult to comprehend. The depression, melancholic, and downright confusing and troubling nostalgia is all perfectly normal. I can't listen to Volume Beta for more than half an hour before I can't handle it anymore. What I'm trying to say is that you're not alone and that this is all part of the human condition. I'm just glad we can all experience this together in such a visceral way.

Wow.
That's the only word I think while listening. It's such a mesmerizing piece, so ethereal and calming. If you listen while closing your eyes, you see the whole effect. It makes me think of floating through space and time. It feels so real though, as if it isn't a product of my imagination, but rather a vivid memory.
This is probably my favorite C418 song by far. It sends chills down my spine whenever I listen to it.

One of my favorite songs on the soundtrack, I don't know how to describe it, I just love the way it progresses and how everything blends together so well. The tone of this song just goes from peace into what it feels like to be using all of your creativity to its fullest. Honestly most of the songs on this soundtrack people come back to for nostalgia and you don't really think about how cool this actually sounds, but still acknowledge it when listening to it again. Man C418 is awesome.

Just listening to this with my eyes closed lets me see all the creative mode buildings me and my friends made half a decade ago. They were not good at all, but the puzzle maps, the horror maps, adventure maps, huge buildings and small ones too, it makes me cry.

This very song was playing when I constructed my most fond memories of the game... There are three I typically remember the most. One of them was when I was about 7/8 and I had recently been watching StampyLongNose and I was inspired by the restaurant that he built to I decided to make my very own... What I did was a made a 3 block high prism out of bricks with a big Italian flag outside since I wanted an Italian restaurant... There was a seating area out the back with some nice oak trees and bushes with some vines. Then across the road that I built there was a nice little cosy park area with a sand pit and undercover eating area. (Growing up in Australia I remember fondly of going to campsites and having lunch under these big wooden gazebos or whatever they were.) Then the road mentioned earlier came to a dead end with a large artificial mountain I made by spamming grass blocks (This was a superflat) but I forgot to fill it in so it was just hollow with a bunch of mobs spawning under it. Then up the top of the mountain there was a little cobble house with a staircase outside winding all the way down the mountain. This is just one of the very many superflat worlds that I never managed to finish... Some other aspects of other worlds I can reminisce are that I made a 3 story hotel out of light grey wool and powerlines going across from it to another little wooden cottage style house which I tried to furnish yet failed as I found out that you couldn’t place slabs facing flat on walls since I wanted to make a TV... I wish I could just play those worlds again just to finish them off with the building knowledge I now possess...
