I love to know when you are blue
If I can't see that look in your eyes
The look I hope I'd see in you
I hope some day you say you love me
That would mean so much to me
But in the meantime I would make it happen
I'll sing a lovesong to you.
I'll sing a lovesong to you, babe
I'll sing a lovesong to you
Take away the sadness,
And put a smile on your face (yes I do)
I'll sing a lovesong to you.
Oh yeah I'll sing a lovesong to you, babe
I'll sing a lovesong to you
Take away the sadness
And put a smile on your face
Oooohhh I'll sing a lovesong to you
There will never bee a moment
When you don't cross my mind
If that all said is really true,
All things in time
But I just, I just keep on hoping,
That some day you would look my way
But in the meantime Oh I'll make you happy
I'll sing a lovesong to you.
I'll sing a lovesong to you, baby
I'll sing a lovesong to you.
Take away your sadness
And put a smile on your face
Yes I will
I'll sing a lovesong to you.
Ohhh I'll sing a lovesong to you, baby
Mmmm I'll sing a lovesong to you
Well I'll take away your sadness
And put a smile on your face
Oh I'll sing a lovesong to you
(Ohh. instrumental.)
Nananananananananananananananana
Oh yes I will
I just sing a lovesong to you
Oh I just sing oh yeah
The lyrics of "I'll Sing A Love Song To You" by Candi Staton express the desire to make someone happy by singing a love song to them. The song discusses the importance of being there for someone during their lonely or difficult times, and hoping that they will reciprocate those feelings. The singer hopes that one day, the person they are singing to will say they love them, but until then, they will make them happy by singing a love song.
The first verse of the song begins with the singer expressing their desire to know when the person they are singing to is lonely or sad. They want to be able to recognize the look in their eyes that suggests they need someone to be there for them. The singer hopes that one day this person will confirm their love, but in the meantime, they will make them happy by singing a love song. The chorus repeats the singer's intentions to sing a love song and to take away the sadness and bring a smile to the person's face.
The second verse of the song continues the theme of hope for reciprocated love. The singer explains that this person is always on their mind and that they keep hoping that they will one day look their way. However, until that happens, the singer will continue to bring happiness to this person by singing a love song to them. The song ends with an instrumental section followed by the singer repeating that they will just sing a love song to the person they care about.
