In October 2014, Harris became the first artist to place three songs simultaneously on the top 10 of Billboard's Dance/Electronic Songs chart. He also became the first UK solo artist to reach more than one billion streams on Spotify. Harris has received 18 Brit Award nominations–winning British Producer of the Year and British Single of the Year in 2019, as well as five Grammy nominations, including a win for Best Music Video in 2013. We'll Be Coming Back

In the back room something I heard you say
We didn't wanna call it too early
Now it seems a world away but I miss that day
Are we ever gonna feel the same?
Standing in the light till it's over, out of our minds
Someone had to draw a line
We'll be coming back for you one day
I don't even care if I know you, out of our minds
Sad to leave it all behind
We'll be coming back
We'll be coming back for you one day
You can see it from afar, we were riding that wave
Blinded by the lights, and it's something I crave
We didn't want to call it too early
Now it seems a world away, but I miss that day
Are we ever gonna feel the same?
Standing in the light till it's over, out of our minds
Someone had to draw a line
We'll be coming back for you one day
We'll be coming back for you one day
I don't even care if I know you, out of our minds
Sad to leave it all behind
We'll be coming back for you one day
We'll be coming back for you one day
Gonna rise, gonna fall, getting pulled apart
And we all do it all 'cause it stole our hearts
Gonna light up the skies, so ignore the stars
And we all do it all 'cause it stole our hearts
Standing in the light till it's over, out of our minds
Someone had to draw a line
We'll be coming back for you one day
We'll be coming back for you one day
I don't even care if I know you, out of our minds
Sad to leave it all behind
We'll be coming back for you one day
We'll be coming back for you one day
The lyrics of Calvin Harris's song "We'll Be Coming Back" explore the aftermath of a separation or breakup. The singer regrets leaving and wishes he had stayed. In the back room, he overheard something from the person he left, and now he misses that time, wondering if they will ever feel the way they did before. He acknowledges their separation, but hopes to come back one day, even if he doesn't know the person anymore. The chorus repeats the idea of coming back one day, despite the distance and uncertainty.
The verse "Standing in the light till it's over, out of our minds, Someone had to draw a line" could be interpreted as the idea of clinging to something that is over, being unable to let go and move on, and needing someone or something to put boundaries in place. The pre-chorus "You can see it from afar, we were riding that wave, Blinded by the lights, and it's something I crave" portrays a feeling of being caught up in a moment without seeing clearly, like being blinded by the spotlight of the situation. The final verse "Gonna rise, gonna fall, getting pulled apart, And we all do it all 'cause it stole our hearts, Gonna light up the skies, so ignore the stars" suggests that the singer is ready to face the ups and downs of life, and is willing to pursue something even if it means making sacrifices.
