1. Captives is a hardcore punk band from Cincinnati, Ohio.
2. Captives are an alternative, garage rock band from the United Kingdom.
3. Captives is an alternative rock band from Eagle Mountain, Utah. On Captives' debut EP these homegrown boys from Utah successfully meld post-hardcore with alternative rock while even throwing in a little old school Brand New era emo. While listening it’s easy to pick up on their rock roots, but the further into a track you get the more layers start to unfold. A lulling baseline might kickstart a song, but by its end emotionally draining vocals are being shouted, eclipsing your first impression and morphing it into an almost transcendental experience of pain and whirling guitar riffs.

Misguided souls soon to be fed
I lay awake every night in my bed
Please god help me all I need is rest
Yeah, I promise I'm trying my very best
Even though I'm young, I still feel old
Like a book that's written, a story told
Yes I am the disappointing summer rain
Yes I am the crossing train,
Yes I am the one you need to entertain
So we took the time and we took it back
All deaf from hearing my voice crack
We shouted out to the heaven above,
"Have I lost your love?"
Then I saw your face above the clouds
My yearning heart began to pound
My fist firmed tightly with rage,
And there was no peace for seven whole days
I still taste you on my tongue
I miss chasing love while I was young
I miss standing in my place,
And now I fall
Fall from your grace
Fall from your grace
Fall from your grace
Fall from your grace
Fall from your
Fall from your grace
Fall from your grace
Your grace
Your grace
Fall from your grace
Fall from your grace
The lyrics of Captives' song "Grace" talk about the struggles of young people as they try to navigate through life while constantly battling their inner demons. The first verse starts off with the singer praying for God's help as they try their best to overcome their fears and worries. The singer acknowledges the weight of their experiences and how they have aged them beyond their years. The line "I am responsible for your pain" could be interpreted as the singer taking on the burden of other people's expectations and subsequently feeling like they failed to meet them. The lines "you need to entertain" suggest that the singer feels like their only purpose is to make others happy, something they may do at the expense of their own mental wellbeing.
The second stanza describes the singer and others trying to resolve their issues by confronting them. This could be a metaphor for therapy or other forms of introspection. However, they are met with failure and heartbreak, portrayed as the "deafness" caused by hearing their own vulnerability. Nevertheless, the singer tries to reach out to a higher power, asking if God still loves them. The mention of the seven whole days could be a reference to the biblical story of creation, where God rested on the seventh day. This might give the impression that the singer is looking for some form of renewing or resting from their struggles. However, this does not make it any easier for them, as they continue to fall from grace.
Overall, the song highlights the emotional struggles of young people who may be going through a period of uncertainty or perhaps just trying to figure out who they are. The song touches on themes of anxiety, insecurity, and self-doubt, which are all common issues faced by young people in society today. Despite the struggles, the song also portrays a sense of hope, with the singer continuing to try their best to pick themselves up and find a way forward.

Saw them yesterday in Modesto, and they were great. Their beats were awesome, and were down to earth people.
