Breathe in, breathe
out
Burn
Burn
Burn
There is only so much I can reach out from the deep
I never thought this could happen to me
I never believed, we'll just have to see
SO
Breathe in, breathe out
Breathe in, breathe out
I've been to hell and back
I've been to hell and back
I've been to hell and back
Can you give me just another day
and I'll make it worth it
You always get what you give, there's nothing more to say
So tell me do I really deserve this
Burn
Burn
Burn
Burn
Burn
Burn
Burn
Burn
The flames, they lick my flesh
Tell me when is this my fucking day?
I pay for my sins, the hard way
Can you give me just another day
and I'll make it worth it
You always get what you give, there's nothing more to say
So tell me do I really deserve this
How did this happen to me?
How did this happen to me?
Hey, I don't wanna believe
You always get what you give
This is the reign of
Terror
Yeah
Come on
Breathe in, breathe out
Breathe in, breathe
Can you give me just another day
and I'll make it worth it
You always get what you give, there's nothing more to say.
So tell me do I really deserve this?
(Whoa, whoa, whoa)
You always get what you give
You always get what you give
You always get what you give
The lyrics to "Firestarter" by Capture the Crown are about someone who has gone through a lot of difficult experiences and is struggling to understand why they have had to endure so much. They are asking for just one more chance to prove themselves and make their life worth it, despite the pain they have suffered. The repeated refrain of "burn" seems to represent their desire to rise above their circumstances and create something new out of the fire.
The questions "How did this happen to me?" and "Do I really deserve this?" suggest a sense of injustice and confusion about why this person's life has taken the turns it has. The reference to paying for their sins in the line "I pay for my sins, the hard way" suggests that they may feel guilty or responsible for the hardships they have faced. The words "the reign of terror" hint at a larger societal or political context that may be contributing to the singer's difficulties.
Overall, the song is a plea for understanding and a desire to rise above adversity.
