surprisingly, this video made for modern televisions also helped me a lot in crt monitors when it comes time to recalibrate geometry and position, good video

Well... that is what this Philips-based testcard was originally designed for. All those lines are there to correct all kinds of errors in position and geometry of the image you see. That this is just a scaled-up version does not make it less usable, the only difference being that artefacts will show in pieces of the card that surpass the native resolution of the CRT being tested.

In all seriousness, I have just found out that out of the 5 HDMI inputs, only HDMI 1 had HDR, and I had my switch on that and my PS5 on another.
I just plugged my PS5 into the HDR HDMI and it made a ton of difference.

yes love the look of this one.i two have only noticed the spelling/this test card is on fantasy test cards .all so a fantastic looking test card with colour bars down the side like the philips test card.

I can’t determine what is supposed to be blacker than black. Your brightness explanation is good but missing out how we use the video to tell what black boxes are the blacker then black ones.

Hi, without calibration tools, you only have to rely on your eyesight. However, I have included in the description of the video at least instructions where the basic principles. I hope this helps.

there are images in this thing! I use to stare at it when I was a kid and think to myself " WTF is this thing " !!!!
Then I would see the light .
Up the top I could see these buildings . Then I could see some soccer posts ! It was staring me right in the face !
That round thing is a bloody big soccer ball !!!!
It was telling me to play soccer instead of sitting on my arse staring a a test immage that had sublminal messaged hidden within.

It's to have enough time to fine-tune all the picture settings such as color sharpness, contrast, side correction and etc ... You do not need to play video again and again during setup ...

Simply watch the the video on your TV from beginning to end and your TV will get calibrated to give the best picture.
Make sure to change the quality setting in youtube to be 2160p
